Stump the King - The VMAs

by Paul Goebel, posted Sep 11th 2007 8:22AM

I want my VIDEOSLet me be the 500th person to say this year's Video Music Awards sucked.

I know I'm not breaking any ground by calling attention to the lamest performance ever starring Britney Spears but there was a lot more wrong with this show than just one bad performance.

How about the multiple parties? How did that serve the show? All it seemed to do was give everyone an excuse to party before the show was over and add to the usual technical problems that the show always has.

I think the problems with this years VMA's are a perfect example of what is wrong with MTV in general. As JT put it, show more videos.

MTV has become about musicians instead of music. I remember when I was a kid, I would rush over to my girlfriend's house after school so I could watch videos on MTV. Not only was it cool to see an interpretation of a particular song, but I also got to hear some music that I usually wasn't exposed to, especially when rap exploded onto the scene.

The only exciting part of the show happened during a commercial and seemed to be a two-hit fight. Kid Rock hitting Tommy Lee and Tommy Lee hitting his cell phone to call his publicist.

Now for this week's question...

Which MTV Veejay always answered a trivia question sent in by viewers during their segment?

Tanner sent in the first correct answer, Martha Quinn.

Sorry, after watching MTV for the past few years, I have no idea what a Veejay is. What are these music videos you're talking about too.

Gosh, why can't we go back to watch Cribs and Sweet Sixteen on MoronicTV, that is what the M stands for isn't it? Gotta go RealWorld is on, and I need to find out what life is like on other planets. Drrrraaaaaammmmaaaaa!
