Here's why Carpoolers may not be a bad show after all -- VIDEO

Best.Airdrumming. Ever. The cast of CarpoolersWhen I saw the first promo for the new ABC comedy Carpoolers it was at the same time I saw the preview for the new ABC comedy Cavemen. Both took place in a car and neither of them were that funny. Since then, however, my respect for Carpoolers had grown to the point that it may be a show I may tune in to watch for the first few episodes (if ABC let's it last that long).

That was until last night. Now, I'll definitely be making sure to tune in to the show when it premieres on October 2nd thanks to a new promo that's been airing on the network and the family of Disney-owned channels. It's nothing spectacular, really. Just the four characters in the carpool driving along listening to the radio. Of course the song they're listening to is a little Phil Collins ditty called In the Air Tonight. And, the part of the song that we hear is one that is extremely famous to air drummers world round.

It's a classic scene, and one that has been repeated in automobiles since the song came out in the early 80's. Granted, your drumming may not have the finesse of those in the cast of Carpoolers, but you never had an air drummer instructor, either. You most likely had to wing it. So just watch the video and relive that moment several days ago when you had your finest air drum solo ever while driving along the New Jersey Turnpike.

This show is way better than I thought it would be...
Fred Goss, Jerry O'Connell,Faith Ford...what the heck...Hopefully it will stick around...
It needs to distance itself from Cavemen....

Thanks, I wasn't going to even give it a try, but this clip ( as well as another one I found online) was really funny.

Personally, I think Fred Goss is one of the funniest people on the planet, and if it was just him singing to himself in the car the entire time, I'd still tune in. Sons & Daughters (granted his own creation) was genius, and part of that was just his delivery of lines and the looks on his face. Gimme my Fred!!!

Yes! Kidding! Hahaha...ha...I know stuff!

No, actually I'd only seen this commercial and one other and they were in the car the whole time, gave me the impression the show revolved around the drive to and from work.

I agree with Chester. The promo is a total rip-off. I refuse to give "Vern" credit for Cadbury's genius.

i actually was thinking they were in the car the whole show too. so i guess if they arent, maybe i will give it a try

i agree with chester that it's a ripoff of the cadbury, which is much funnier. in this commercial, if you look at the guys faces, you can see them just concentrating (with the coffee) and smiling right before they drum up, kinda pathetic acting

@bd -- In case you're not joking, no, they're not always in the car. In fact we don't see them in the car very much.

The scenes when they get to the commuter parking area and fight for a parking spot, though, are hilarious. The suits with their morning sushi...

I thought of the Drew Carey Show when I saw this promo. It might not be so bad. There are already parodies of the promo on YouTube, so that's a good sign.

I thought this promo was a rip off of a Cadbury chocolate commercial:

I actually found this one to be more funny...
