Let me try to explain how Daniele 'rode' her father's coat-tails to the final 2 and $50K.

When she was HOH (the first time I think) and tried to evict Eric she attempted to persuade Jessica to help her. Do you remember? Jessica immediately told Eric and Eric told the other LNC members. He was saved of course and D & D both became targets because the LNC considered them traitors (even though we know D & D were right).
Jessica then won HOH and put D & D up. Dick decided to save Daniele even though he could have saved himself and he was willing (and expecting) to be evicted. But the LNC goofed it up and Dustin was evicted instead. This was huge because Dick should have been evicted right there and then. In any event, Dick saved Daniele.

2 weeks later Dick negotiated a deal with Eric and Jessica that secured Daniele's place in the house until the final 4. This worked out for everybody because Daniele and Jessica both won an HOH.
You're right, Daniele winning at this time was important. But the deal with Eric was more important because Jessica could have (and wanted to) evict Daniele when she was HOH. But she honored the alliance Dick had negotiated.

The next week, Dick negotiated a deal with Zach to secure D & D and Zach in the final 3. When Zach won the POV on the double eviction episode, he could have saved Eric or Jameka and put up Daniele (Dick was HOH). Then, for example, Jameka and Zach could have evicted Daniele, 2-0. But Zach honored the agreement he had made with Dick and didn't use the veto. This was the second time a deal brokered by Dick saved Daniele.

Daniele was the strongest competitor up to this point and the others wanted her out for that very reason but Dick was able to make deals that kept her off the block twice. (Janelle on the other hand never hooked up with the right partner and so she came up a loser both games she played despite winning so often.)

During the final HOH competition Daniele was the first one out in round 1 and Dick walloped her in round 2. Thus, the only way she could make it to the final 2 would be for Dick to win round 3, which he did. If Zach had won he probably would have evicted Daniele figuring everybody's dislike of Dick would ensure him the $500K.

Generally, the strongest competitors do not make it to the finals. That's is why the D & D alliance is so unique. Usually, the strongest players are voted out by the weasels and the floaters who lay low and let the HOH winners take turns evicting each other.

Dick's genius was forming the right alliance at the right time. When he and Daniele were put up by Jen, his alliance with the LNC saved his ass. When he broke from the LNC he had enough support from the rest of the house who wanted to see the LNC dissolved. He then hooked up with Eric and Jessica and benefited from that alliance and then shifted to an alliance with Zach to get rid of Eric and Jessica. It's the way the game has to be played. Alliances have their useful lifetimes and then they must be broken. It's inevitable and everybody who plays the game should recognize that.

Dick's alliance with Daniele was his greatest moment and he was willing to sacrifice himself to ensure her success. That's a great partner! Some people didn't like his tactics along the way, but, hey, it worked for him (and Daniele)!

Thanks Jackie for a great season. I loved it all. I did not have the live feed but I did watch showTime every nite. I wish ShowTime would caring the wrap party so we could have a ending to the season. After 3 months of watching they just leave you hanging. See you for season 9.

I am glad ED won. We know he will be more generous with Dani than vice versa. I believe Dani would have been into herself if she had won. Dick at least is sincere about mending their relationship and I am unsure Dani is quite as sincere. However, that is their personal life lets hope for a positive outcome for them both in this regard. As far as Danis personal relationship with her previous boyfriend an Nick -- come on --- you gotta admit they do make a cute couple. Whatever will be will be -- after all they are still very young. Some things are just ment to be and some things are just not ment to be. I didn't get a chance to watch the finals episode, however it is interesting to read all these blogs over the last couple of months about so many of you writing off BB, but still following it through to the end and continuing to complain about this seasons BB. I think it was an awesome season, never a dull moment, frustrating at times yes, but on the whole -- an entertaining season. Wanna bet that most everyone who said they would not watch next years BB will be in front of the TV watching it next year, and yes complaining about this and that. ---- once again, that is life, some people just have to have something to complain about. I was disappointed in the finale. I was a D&D fan whole way through. I do not think that the Jury nor america really thought it through on who deserved to win this game. Let's break it down. America choice ED because why? His ignorance, he made the show this season. So Eric had no choice but to vote for him and try to get the others to vote the same way because it was what America wanted. Jessica is so easy to manipulate that she would do whatever Eric was doing just because she is so star struck by him. Dustin I do not understand his voting process at all. Ambers vote was out of pure jealousy of Dani. What does Dani's personal life have to do with how she played this game. Dustin and Amber were just jealous of her because they could not have Nick. Zach ok I can understand him voting for Dick especially after they went head to head in the first and last part of the final HOH competition. Dick gained a little respect from Zach there. Jen her vote for Dani was just out of pure hatred for ED. Jameka is the only one who knew who deserved the win and who played a more strategic, competitive and respectful game. ED was not the big mastermind he claimed to the Jury to be. Dani may have wined and cried at her father but ED would of never made it as far as he did if not for Dani winning 5 POV's and 2 HOH's and to the fact that america saved him that week by having Eric campaign to get Dustin out. Yes, I will give ED his credit simply because He did win one POV and took Dani off the block and three HOH's but I do not see where anyone thinks that Dani rode her father's coat tail. I do not see. They both played the game for each other. But I think Dani should have took it all. But boy for america thinking ED is so amicable that he will share his winnings with his family, How is that possible. He exclaimed last night, how he is going to travel around the world for awhile. I did not here one mention of the family come out of his mouth. But on a lighter note, I would love to see another all star BB with Dani and Jani in it. Have them pair up and dominate the house. That would be awesome. Later.

After the results were announced and Danielle realized her father won the $500,000.00, I caught her comment "WE won". She knows that as long as she stays civil with her Dad, she'll benefit from that money. Can't help but wonder what her comment would have been had she been awarded the $500,000.00. Somehow I think the word Danielle would have used most certainly would have been "I" and not "We".

It's rather sad that Jenn couldn't be magnanimous even for the end show. And, sadly, Amber could be counted on, yet again, to make a dumb comment (re Danielle and her carrying on with Nick). Talk about glass houses.....

I don't know about you, but I'm certainly readyto watch Dick and Danielle and Eric and Jessica on "Amazing Race".....

Jackie...is there snyway the jury house cud refuse to vote for either one of the A,,,holes LOL...I can't believe that " fowl " mouth dick is where he is...what was the rest of the house thinking????anyway next year when I am in the house I"ll show them how to get rid of an individual like him..for 7 years I have filled out the application..never did a video and never sent it in...I"am 74 and I swear I am going there before I die, if I have to break in....Love ur updates Jackie

Jackie, you make BB watching fun and exciting. It's so much better reading your words along with watching the show. The season may have had its boring moments but I imagine it would have been so much more so without you to fill in the blanks. I can't wait for tonight's episode and watching Dick receive his much-deserved reward of the half-mil. Thanks Jackie
