Also, PETA doesn't really care about "factory farming methods" they don't want any animal to be killed for food, clothing, or medical use. Of course said medical uses actually keep VP May Beth Sweetland ALIVE (insulin), but I'm sure their bylaws say it's ok to be a hypocrite.

Couldn't PETA have gotten their message across with Silverstone wearing a bikini? It seems to work well for diet companies. Any less clothing and I won't exactly be paying attention to what she is saying.

The ad makes sense when you realize they are trying to bring attention to an issue that people and the media want to ignore. The way animals are treated in factory farms is sick and immoral. People resent being told this so PETA wraps the message up in a package that few people (men anyway) would find objectionable and people still resent it. I have no problem with Alicia in the ad. I have a problem that it's PETA once again telling everyone how to live and acting as if they're right and the world is wrong. There's already too many people pulling that crap.

How about airing the ad and just telling the audience it's there as eye candy, no other message? :-)

I mean, I'm all for naked Ah-lieh-si-ah Silverstone, but why can't commercials make sense anymore?

This makes no sense. I live in the Houston area, I proudly eat many, many things PETA would rather I not, and I want to go on record as saying I have no problem with this ad at all. In fact, I believe I can speak for a great many carnivorous Houston men in saying this ad is a fine piece of eye candy. We may not agree with what she's saying, but really - who is actually listening to the blather coming out of her mouth when they watch this?? Anyone??

A washed up, has been, not even that cute anymore actress makes a commercial that at first glance looks like something straight off skinemax's friday night rotation. Ive seen the commercial and i have not seen that much butt crack on television since Det. Andy Sipowicz decided to turn in the badge. Unless the whole idea of this publicity stunt was to get it pulled from the air than someone needs to be fired. Anyone who saw this commercial knew it would never see network airwaves.

PETA is a good idea in theory but if most of their zombied followers even read some of the pamphlets they are handing out they would be shocked. After being contacted to try and help with a "save pit bulls campaign" (a city was trying to pass a bill making new pit bulls illegal, exisiting pit bulls put down) PETA responded by saying they refuse to help or be associated with the event. It is their belief that animals should not be confined as pets but rather should be allowed to roam free in the world that was rightfully theres.

real quickly... i do not find the commercial particularly offensive. i do not see a problem with using the a-word or s-word on tv past 8 oclock. I do think that television and radio is quickly becoming over censor-ized (is that even a word?)
I also know the world we live in and think its stupid for someone to make a commercial like this and than act all surprised and up in arms when they pull it off the air.

I also love steaks and hate PETA
