More changes for Cavemen

by Paul Goebel, posted Sep 28th 2007 8:23AM

The cast of CavemenThe producers of Cavemen have made quite a few changes since the show was first picked up and while they are doing their best to keep these changes from being seen by the critics, they can't keep them a secret.

It's already well-known that the show has gone through some cast changes. Sam Huntington was added to the cast late in the game as the younger brother of caveman Joel (Bill English.)

Well, now it seems that part of the reason the pilot is being scrapped is because the producers have decided to change locations. Instead of living in Atlanta, the cavemen will now be based out of San Diego. Producers say this decision was made due to the difficulty of faking Atlanta while shooting in Los Angeles.

The main difference this makes is that the show will now have a harder time drawing the comparison between cavemen and real ethnic groups in America. Personally, I think California is the perfect home state for cavemen and I say that with love for the state and for cavemen alike.

Producers of the sitcom have decided to shoot an entirely new premiere episode addressing the changes as well as changing the main storyline to focus on the fact that one of the cavemen is dating a homo sapien.

I, for one, enjoyed the original pilot but the fact that so many changes are being made does not bode well for the success of the series.

The could add Jesus, Charles Manson and a real, live space alien to the cast and I won't watch. This is a bad idea that is way out of control.

ABC has given up. They've given up! They'll get ok ratings for maybe the first 2 episodes, but by then the gimmick and novelty will have worn off and people won't care. Now if there was ever a commercial to be turned into a sitcom, it's that Celestia one with Abe Lincoln, the talking beaver, and the mute diving suit guy. I'd watch that.

This is going to be the greatest show in the history of TV! I've been saying for years that there should be a caveman show.
