"Clusterf@#k to the White House": How in the hell did Jon manage to work in a Perez Hilton joke in there? Why does it feel like the whole world is suddenly talking about that guy again? I don't get it. Anyway, Baltimore's Morgan State University hosted a GOP debate and virtually no one showed up. What does this call for? Yes! Another Larry Wilmore and John Oliver collaboration! Finally.
There was no fancy graphic or title this time, though, which confused me. Was this not worthy of a "Wilmore/Oliver Investigates" title? It wasn't the best thing the two have done, but it was still pretty funny. I especially liked Oliver's little victory dance in the pathetically barren press room. That Mitt Romney fangirl at IHOP was also, um, interesting. Calm down, girl, it's not Barack Obama.
"You Don't Know Dick": The Council for National Policy's membership policy is about as secretive as Dick Cheney's, um, everything. Shame that this was such a short segment. I'm sure Cheney has a lot of other creepy stuff to not share with us.
The night's guest was Jack Cafferty of The Situation Room, promoting his new book, It's Getting Ugly Out There: The Frauds, Bunglers, Liars, and Losers Who Are Hurting America. Despite Cafferty's generally surly demeanor and infamous TelePrompter-related frustrations, I thought Cafferty was fairly amiable and nice to watch. I kept expecting him to start yelling at Jon for some reason. Perhaps it's just my sleep deprivation. Yes. That must be it.
Jon/Stephen: More promotion for Stephen Colbert's upcoming book, I Am America (And So Can You!), of course. Oh! You guys, you guys, I totally got tickets for a November Colbert Report taping and I am completely determined to get him to sign my copy of the book. Wish me luck. Moment of Zen: Cafferty gets snippy when his TelePrompter doesn't run correctly.
