I believe that Bright Lights is about a woman who decides she wants to go explore a new life and she makes a mistake. The guy is telling her when she realizes that everything wont just take her in like she thinks that she has a place with some one who does really care, and that she always will have a home. Bright Lights is a really good song, i believe the meaning of the song is very deep. I also believe that it has more than just one meaning, several things can come of this song. Thats the beauty of Matchbox Twenty, they create music that anyone can relate to, in several ways.
