Here's the plan if Jericho is canceled again

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 5th 2007 2:38PM

Jericho was canceled once, only to be saved by a massive nut-sending campaign (and that's probably the first time I've ever typed the words "nut-sending campaign"), and the show will return in a few months for it's second season, which at the moment is slated to last seven episodes (when we last left the town, they were starting a battle with New Bern and military people were on the way). But what if the episodes are low-rated? What will happen in the story if the CBS show is canceled again?

The producers have a plan for that. As it stands right now, the second season has an ending that explains everything but also leaves the door open to a third season and gives a hint as to what would happen in a third season. But the show has also filmed an alternate ending for the last second season episode, just in case, and this episode would serve as more of a series-ender and not a season-ender.

The first season DVD was just released, and we'll have a review next week. (Inside note: Check our giveaways next Monday. Hint hint.)

I hope CBS gives JERICHO a good time-slot and promotes the show like crazy.
People HAVE to know when the show is back on.
Many people think the show is cancelled for good.
CBS need to run lots of promos during their top rated shows.
CBS needs to get their JERICHO stars on all of the talk shows.
Fans please tell everyone you know that JERICHO will be back.

JERICHO ROCKS!!!

Is anyone willing to guess who dropped the bomb. But also take into today's political climate, and the proliferation of old former USSR wepons on the black market. Our current mideast problems, and our internal problems (immigration hate groups militias) I am curious as to what others are thinking...

At least the creators are smart enough to make a back up plan. I'm not a fan of the show and i was worried more nuts will be wasted. :)

I don't care what happens as long as we know who dropped those damn bombs.

I can see it now, the final Jericho Scene...

Jake: Geez Hawkins, I still can't believe you're keeping an armed nuclear bomb in your back yard.

Hawkins: Don't worry Jake, no one but you and I know about it so the town is safe

Jake: I guess, hey, what does this wire do?

Hawkins: Don't touch tha...

I really appreciate when producers make the effort to appease the fans when their shows fail. I wish more would do so with a pre filmed finale, even if they had to air it in the summer to stave off advertising costs of the prime viewing season.

Jeez. I type "nut-sending" quite often. OK. It's Friday. Give me a break.

Anyway, at least they've made some contingencies, but it would be interesting to see if they answered the major questions (who, how, why) at the end of season 2, where would they go with season 3. Of course I'm being optimistic in hoping for a season 3. I watched the original run religiously (including rewatching everything online during the stupid break), but I'm not home on Friday nights. I hope they pick a decent timeslot (maybe when Kid Nation's season ends) AND DON'T PUT A STUPID 2 MONTH BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE F**KING SEASON!!
