Yup, Kiefer Sutherland is going to jail

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 9th 2007 9:15PM

Kiefer SutherlandWell, it looks like celebrities don't always get off with just a slap on the wrist (wait...that sounds rather dirty, but you know what I mean).

24 star Kiefer Sutherland is actually going to jail for 30 days, as part of his plea deal regarding a DUI arrest in Los Angeles in September. He was coming home from a FOX fall season party. He's going to jail for having a blood alcohol level over the limit, but the second charge of DUI was dismissed (not sure what the difference is there).

The timing is good though: the sentencing will be announced on December 21, the day 24 takes a their break. He could actually go to jail for longer than that, six months, if the judge wants him in there longer for violating his probabtion from a 2004 arrest. Merry Christmas Kiefer! Maybe the Prison Break guys can help him get out, and they can film it for another reality show.

Kay I'm not joking.

The police during the Paris thing came out and said that their jails are so full that women only have to spend half their sentence in jail at the most.

Of course it's a double standard, but that's the way it is. I think we should let the druggies out of jail and and then refill them with the drunk drivers.

The obvious question is what happens to "24" if its star is ordered to remain incarcerated longer than 30-45 days?

Maybe this is why they're bringing back Tony -- they could have Tony take over for Jack (who goes missing for several hours) until the season finale.

I just find it funny that almost 1% of all US-citizens are in jail, more than in any other first wold country. As if jailtime is the answer to everything.

And what makes women drunk behind the wheel less dangerous than men?
Oreo - Unless you're comment was tongue-in-cheek, which is hard to discern in writing, it's a double standard that doesn't make sense, as the potential for bodily harm is the same, regardless of whether the driver is male or female.
Anyway, not a policy which will be solved in the pages of Tvsquad.com!
