Which star of The Office was in The Grass Roots? - VIDEO

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 13th 2007 2:01PM

Dunder-Mifflin logoI'm talking about the American version of the show. I'll put the answer to this question on the second page, but it's actually pretty easy to figure out. Just remember that The Grass Roots was a band in the 1960s and 70s (that leaves out 98% of the cast right there, they're too young) and that it was all male (that leaves out Pam and Angela, even if they were old enough). I think you've probably figured out who it is by now, but that doesn't make the video after the jump any less amusing.

He's the one on the left in the striped sweater.

It's Creed Bratton! He plays Creed, of course. It's from The Jimmy Durante Show. Not sure why the audience laughs so hard when Jimmy introduces the group.

haha LK. Well I'm a chick, not emo and my stories are true but I can see the comparison. I can be a bitch and I tell it like it is and call people out on stuff whether they like it or not and it usually gets people pissed off, my bluntness. I think people need to grow thick skin geez, it's not the end of the world when someone you don't know disagrees with you on a computer message board.

Anyway, I'm not a computer geek either, I wish I knew about computers the way Simon does. So, I don't take it as an insult really. I found it amusing. Sometimes the younger folks don't "get" me when I make a point which I think is sad because after the barage of insults (which doesn't happen that often because I am not a troll as evident by my other posts on this site), I realize that people are getting dumber as days go on. Oh the future of America, I worry...

Hey El, The Grass Roots have been performing but I highly doubt that Creed will be there based on his work schedule and his break from the band. He's still very active musically and has done his own thing, which is very Creed-like (whether or not based on his character or his real-life persona since they seem to blend lol).

It would be pretty cool to see him play with them again though, but if you've seen some of their recent performances, they haven't been the greatest (hey we all get old). It hurts to see older bands play today when they've obviously "lost" it if you know what I mean, sort of a shadow of themselves.

The Grass Roots are playing at Westbury (NY) this Saturday Oct 20 with the Turtle, The Buckinghams and Tommy James. I wonder if he's still in the band.

Tracey - you remind me of Simon on the Brit version of "The Office"

Hey rich c, great addition to the conversation, that was very insightful. People like you used to annoy me (until I realized the stupidity of most people), but thanks for the compliment, it usually comes from the haters that don't "understand" things so they just come back with a simple insult. I've done my job well then, oh and people like you, rich and d-bo, you can get off of Bob's nutsack now.

Trolls are people that come on and do nothing but flame and I've not done that on other threads nor this one (I even said so to Sassone). Get your thoughts collected before you post perhaps hmm?

Now how annoying am I? lol

I don't manage to see every episode of The Office, so this was news to me. Amazing. I'm telling many, many people.

Well, I'm glad to know this, 'cause I'm NOT an office fan but I'll check it out now just to see Creed.

People get over yourselves! Thanks, Bob for the post. I'm a pretty die hard Office fan and I didn't pick up on this. Don't let the trolls get you down.
