Stump the King - Dick Wolf

by Paul Goebel, posted Oct 22nd 2007 12:02PM

Dick WolfHere is a question I got this week from a fan who was trying to stump me...

"Before he was on Law & Order: SVU, what show was Ice T on that was also created by Dick Wolf?"

Well, I had to rack my brain on this one but eventually I remembered Ice T's short lived show Players. I remember having high hopes for Players mainly because I really liked the cast. Costas Mandylor and Frank John Hughes were always enjoyable to watch and Mia Korf, their boss was a full on hottie.

Of course, Hughes has gone on to other failed series like LAX and Cover Me as well as showing up on the final season of The Sopranos and Mandylor was recently on the quickly cancelled The Wedding Bells. As for Korf, she seems to MIA.

This week's question is about another boss from Dick Wolf's universe.

Aside from Law & Order, on what Dick Wolf show did S. Epatha Merkerson play the top cop?

Congratulations to Marc Morrison. Mann and Machine was the correct answer.

Also, before taking over as Lt., S. Epatha Merkerson appeared as the mother of a mentally challenged suspect on an episode of Law & Order.

I think it was Mann & Machine. Also, Ice-T appeared as a major villain in the Dick Wolf show, New York Undercover. Although it wasn't a starring role, he did play a major part in the episodes he was in.
