ABC shakes up schedule

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 26th 2007 3:22PM

October RoadDo you love ABC's new schedule? Don't get too used to it.

October Road, the drama critics hate but viewers seem to love, returns to the ABC lineup on November 22 at 10pm, for one night only. Then it moves to Monday nights after Dancing with the Stars ends its season. The new Monday night schedule will be Samantha Who? at 9pm, Notes From The Underbelly at 9:30, and then October Road at 10pm. No word on what's going on at 8, but there might be a Dancing with the Stars spinoff going in that slot.

A Dancing with the Stars spinoff. FANTASTIC.

And that's not the only change coming to the network. Men In Trees is moving from its Friday at 10pm slot to Friday at 8pm. 20/20 will move into the 10pm slot, which is where I think it used to run if I remember correctly.

I think the voting process is a farce. The phone lines are only open for 30 mins after the end of the show. I keep gettin a busy signal. Something smells of " Fish ". It does provide the option to allow, whoever ABC wants to win the contest.
It is a popularity contest. I'm not a big fan of Sabrina, but objectively speaking ,she was much better than Marie Osmund will ever be on here best night of DWTS

Even though it's a little heavy handed I missed October Road and I hope I will be able to fit it into my DVR recording schedule.

In regards to the comments about the Nielsen ratings.. you should have to have a minimum IQ to get a Nielsen box. Between the reality shows and their spin-offs infesting network TV, and the networks being fickle and killing shows before they have the time to find an audience, prime-time tv is a nightmare landscape and a lot of the blame can be laid on Fox. They've bombarded us with reality tv and predetermined the death of good series (Firefly, Wonderfalls, etc.) by scheduling them badly or shuffling them faster than the audience could keep up. The whole thing is disgusting, and I hate to see other networks follow suit.

I watch shows like DWTS because there is no killing, no child abuse and no violence. When shows are on that I do not like, I read a book of my own choosing.

I'm so sick of all of you who put down dancing with the stars. There are many choices among four different networks plus cable -- go watch something else and be thankful that something is pulling in 20 million plus ratings on network television -- and one that is nothing but pure unadulterated fun.

To Jonathan:
I think it's funny how you just called yourself stupid, it's the funniest part of this thread.

"So basically what you're telling me is we're getting some sort of..."
Then you say:
"Wow you americans are so freakin stupid it's incredible."

You do know that the word "we're" includes yourself in your so-called "argument" or whatever the hell that was supposed to be? The one thing that you were correct on, you definitely "are so freakin stupid it's incredible."

Bob:
Does this mean Men in Trees is doing poorly at 10 or does it mean it could do even better at 8 and have a better lead for Women's Murder Club?
