Our first ever TV Squad reader/writer meetup!

by Keith McDuffee, posted Oct 31st 2007 12:00PM
tv squadLast month I asked the readers of TV Squad whether they'd be interested in attending a TV Squad meetup. Well, we've decided there was enough interest to give it a whirl, so we're going to have the first of hopefully many reader meetups in Boston next month, sponsored by our friends at Sling Media (which means we'll have some slick Sling gear to give away!)

"Wait, Boston?"

At the time we had two places in mind, San Diego and New York City, and we do plan to have meetups there in the future. Consider this the first of many, and one that at least a few of us writers can attend, including Joel, Bob and myself. You never know who else will turn up. Oh, and we're giving away Sling gear, TV shows on DVD and TV Squad T-shirts. Joy!

Read on for the details.

The first TV Squad reader/writer meetup will be on Friday, November 30, from 7PM through 10PM at Big City in Allston, MA. For those of you from the Boston area, you likely know where the Sunset Grill & Tap is, and Big City is right next door and upstairs, 138 Brighton Ave. The place is setup more for meetups, complete with pool tables, so it should be a lot of fun. Big City sells food and drinks (80 beers on tap!), but everyone will be on their own as far as paying.

So, if you're in the Boston area November 30, please make a point of stopping by and saying hello!

For complete directions, here's Big City on Google Maps. You can easily get there by taking the Green Line T and getting off at the Harvard Ave. stop.

Oh man, how did I miss that this was happening. I would have certainly gone had I not already committed to other plans. I love reading TV Squad!

Oh, you've got to be kidding me! You come to Boston, but on a night I've got a concert at Symphony Hall to work. (marketing, not playing) Ah, well. I'm sure everyone will have fun.

Hey! We've almost got the fires out here in San Diego! It's safe now! Besides, we're in the middle of a drought. That means sunny weather in the 70s in December, January and February. You gotta come out. And I'm quite certain that we can find a venue with sufficient "variety" on tap!

If Brigitte isn't going to be there I see no reason to go. If she is security is going to cost you a fortune. Of course, if you just ban Patrick the security requirements will drop.
