Production halted on Dog the Bounty Hunter

by Anna Johns, posted Nov 1st 2007 8:05AM
duane chapmanDuane "Dog" Chapman is in a heap of trouble over some horribly racist comments he made. They're so bad that A&E has halted production on Dog the Bounty Hunter while the network investigates the matter.

Here's the story: The National Enquirer magazine has audio tapes where Chapman uses the 'N' word repeatedly and tells his son not to date black girls. Somehow, the magazine acquired a tape of a phone call between "Dog" and his son.

Chapman won't talk about it, but he did send his pastor out to calm down the media. Pastor Tim Storey, called "the pastor to the stars" by USA Today, said "Dog" cried for 30 minutes about it, saying "Can you believe, Tim, that I'm going to be put in the same category as Imus." Storey said that "Dog's" excuse was that he was mad at his son about his relationship with some girl.

I am a mother of two young boys. My boys looked up to dog. His comments have really hurt my boys alot because they are young black boys ages 7 and 10. I will never watch anything on him again. Watching his show he makes you see him as this lovable kind man who love God. He pray for those people as if he cares. I know now it was all apart of his act. What's in you will come out when you think know one is around. We just need to remember realality TV is just an act. Real life is when there is no TV around.

i think what happened in the course of the papers displaying what the dog sayed was bull. i think if he was just a normal person there wouldnt be any problems at all. I also think what he did for a living was great and everybody has there own way of saying things and we also say its a free country, well obviously not, taking him off tv is contraversal. He deserves the right and so does everyone else to have freedom and a freedom of speech and what the paper did was an invasion of privacy thank you for reading god bless the dog and his family

for the love of ***! some of you people! there should be no political, religious or finincial divides, everybody should be a pleasant beige colour, at least then, tolerance of any culture/colour/class wouldn't enter into the equation. compassion and common sense wouldn't have to be dusted off and used from time to time. i'm feeling the alliterative "c" thing i've got goin on, needs some work though.......by the way, some coloured people are ok with being called the n word, as a honky (wigger) i'm not ok with saying it. stay classy ireland :D

I think this has been blowen way out. How do people know it is dog talking? His son wanted to make trouble for him and what a better way to do it. Face it none of us are perfect. My family and I watch his show all the time how many people can change their life the way he did. We should be worrying about other things not things that were between a father and son.

Dog is human, unfortunately humans make mistakes. Who among you hasn't said something that you regret, that you didn't mean, and can be taken out of context. Why is it that certain groups in our society are held to higher standards than the rest of us? Why is it that certain groups and people in our society can let loose with whatever comments that they want, but others cannot use those same comments? Why is it that certain groups and people in our society can call white people and other groups whatever they want without it being a "hate crime", bigoted, or racist; but if a white person uses these words or other words it is blown up this way? An entire music industry is used to express this type of bigotry, but it is ok. It isn't a hate crime then. I find this exremely hypocritical of our society. Who among you is without this sin. Who among you can honestly cast the first stone...none I believe.

I think everybody is entitled to their own opinions as prejudice as it may be. Blacks telling their daughters not to date whites and Whites telling their daughters not to date white or asian etc. Somewhere I believe I read that the son leaked the story to the enquirer to get back at his dad.

I appraised Dog for telling his son not to date a black girls. Same thing with my kids, I always tell them, they can be friends with any colors but never date anyone whose skin is darker unless olive skin. Call me whatever names you want, I dont give any #@*&!
