Joss Wheldon always had good ideas for a season arc, although firefly was cencelled he got to where he wanted it to get to in terms of story, in the movie. Also firefly was extremely popular in DVD sales so luckily that allowed him to make a movie and the possibility to finish his story that he wanted to tell.
of course i think if joss was to write anything he would turn it to gold, but thats because i think he is a great writer, has great ideas and great stories to tell through arcs, subplots etc. ... he does think well ahead, which i think helps keep the story his telling in tune with the viewer. Now my love for this director is showing a little to much so i' am going to introduce a subject change here.

i don't see a problem with this season of heroes, sure its not as good as season 1, and its nowhere near as strong, but after such a great first season which was really strong and powerful, its hard to produce a second season equally as good. in all respect, it had a lot to live up to as the first season was so great. i still enjoy watching it and find it a great show, with trust that the writers will fix the faults in this season, after all their entitled to have faults this season.. they kinda need a rest after such a great first season. then again i myself do expect a series to get better each year.

Either way i love this show, can't wait for it to come out on DVD fully in England.

Also you are completely wrong about them not knowing where things were headed. They always planned for the first 11 episodes to be the Volume 2 and the back episodes to be Volume 3.

It just seems like Tim Kring doesn't know where the show is headed. He needs to plan out the season before the season finale even airs. He needs to know where its going, how the season finale will be, and then figure out how to reach those events. He even admits that they didn't map out the season as good as he wanted. Guess they can't all be Joss Whedon. He always seemed to know where his series' were headed way ahead of time. Maybe Tim Kring should discuss his show with Joss to get some advice.

Heroes is different because NBC knew they sucked and weren't going to give the writers what they want so they changed the ending of the 11th episode to be the finale, even through up to episode 13 is made.

I'm really going to miss my shows. :(

This isn't just Heroes. All of your favorite currently airing shows will be over by the end of January.

But if JERICHO is one of the few new shows on when it runs it will help the show.

I think Chadwick was referring to CBS's promise that if the first few episodes of JERICHO did well enough in the ratings an extension on the seven episodes was possible. The seven are ready to go, but with the strike it's unlikely the show will see an extension this season. It's going to have to do really well to get a fall pickup...but if there's nothing else new on besides reality shows, then odds are the show will do well come spring (as long as the big brains at CBS manage to not schedule it against LOST's 8 new episodes).

Aww, that's awful. I love Heroes, and it would suck to not get that big season finale hype feeling I love so much. But I guess that as long as the show continues to be as great as it has been, I'll be content. The story and the characters are what's important.

Chadwick – Two things…

First, I don’t think anyone is expecting the strike to end anytime before May. Every account I’ve heard has said something like “the last strike lasted 5 months and representatives are saying this one could go even longer”. Miracles are possible but I don’t think a return during the current season is likely.

Second, I don’t know what point you were trying to make as far as Jericho is concerned but according to the LA Times all of the Jericho episodes are written (http://www.latimes.com/business/la-striketvgrid-html,0,7606966.htmlstory?coll=la-home-center) so this shouldn’t have any negative impact on Jericho.
