Nielsen ratings for the week ending November 11

I agree with jonathans comment. Who the hell is Nielsen fooling other than the advertisers. So many fabulous shows I get hooked on and then boom..off the air. I hate reality shows. Love journeyman..real inteliigent show. The Unit, Heroes, Big Shots,Moonlight and oh yeah Cane..wow makes the sopranos feel like their family. Now let's face the following, the average american is working, has children and has a hectic schedule. I do not watch TV on the hours they are put. Thanks to TiVo and DVR machines, I watch all my favorites, does Nielsen take this into consideration. Many are watching TV on the net like my 22 and 24 kids. I believe Nielsen ratings should not control what we watch..but then again the funds they receive will keep them around controlling what we see whether we like it or not. Hope my shows are around next year. To end this year is probabaly some of the best shows we have seen on the networks, hope they don't make the mistake of assuming the Nielsens are getting it right.

I agree, The Unit is a well acted, terrific show. Easily one of the best on TV. For those of you who enjoy a beauty/beast, Angel/Buffy type of format - give Moonlight a try. An updated, sexy take on vampires but with a weekly storyline/interaction between the characters that can get you hooked. I agree with Jonathan - too many of the better shows on TV get cancelled and the same old/same old stay on and are what the networks push on their ads.

The Unit is one of the best shows I've watched this season. I guess it's pro military (Hoo-Waa!) slant turns off some viewers, but the show is awesome. I never got into the CSIs, but I enjoy Without a Trace and NCIS also. In summary, the CBS dramas are kicking some serious butt this season.

There's only ONE show i watch on that list and it's House, like Bob said, are we just out of touch?, no one i know watches any of these shows. It's pathetic really.

And i watch ALOT of shows, so that means of all the shows i currently watch only House will get a new season? So that means Prison Break, Heroes, Journeyman, Reaper, Bionic Woman,Chuck,Dirty Sexy Money, Cane,Pushing Daisies,Smallville,Supernatural will all get cancelled or not get renewed? That's freaking ridiculous!

And it's like this EVERY SINGLE YEAR! I don't even know why networks even TRY to create new shows or even less serial shows, they could just have the same shows year after year and still win in ratings! Why try new things when the american people obviously don't want it?

It pisses me off since i'm such a huge TV lover, and every year 85% of the new shows i start watching get cancelled because all the stupid americans with the nielsen boxes decide they only want procedurals, reality shows and sitcoms. Why can't sitcoms die already? I thought they were almost dead but i guess you crazy americans still love to be told when to laugh.

Like i said in another post, they should REALLY destroy those nielsen boxes or give them to more intelligent people!

Though i will say this, i'm surprised no shows have been cancelled yet (i don't count Nashville or Viva Laughlin) usually by this time of the year 3-4 shows have already been axed.

Have you watched the CSI's? They are the same freakin' show. In fact, take out procedurals about the murder of the week and CBS has two shows, a news magazine and a reality TV show that never wins any wards.

The three CSI shows aren't a continuation of the same show, so your argument with that show is invalid.

Wait, Bob, what do you mean by taking out Dancing with the Stars? Because it airs twice a week? If that's the case, then Idol shouldn't count for Fox. Heck, the 3 CSIs shouldn't count for CBS.

Samantha Who is actually a funny show. I doubt it'll drop by much when Dancing is over.

I wish that they would also cover Without a trace and NCIS

I'm not talking about just this week though, I mean in general. These CBS shows are in the top 20 week after week. ABC's CMA Awards was a one-time special, and if you also take out Dancing with the Stars that's three less slots right there. Also I think Samantha Who? is helped greatly by DWTS's lead-in.

Top 5 ABC has 3 and CBS has 2
Top 10 ABC has 5 and CBS has 3

Don't see how CBS "owns it."
