TV male eye candy (Jen's Three)
Here are my three. Well, I suppose you get a big clue as to one of them right here and now, but I couldn't resist putting up this photo. Yum! You will notice that my tastes don't run strictly to candy: I have someone who is not quite human; a self-admitted asshole; and an arrogant coward. Come to think about it, you could apply these descriptions to all three of my guys, but I love 'em anyway!
If you like an otherworldly quality in your guy...
1) Alex O'Loughlin from CBS's Moonlight (Mick St. John)
I have to admit, I am a sucker for vampires, private investigators, and sexy Aussies (even one who is not using his accent on the show). Alex O'Loughlin is the hunky star of CBS's Moonlight, and the show's fans are smitten. They are rather rabid, almost as if they'd been bitten... Alex may be the most traditionally sexy guy on my list. He is pure eye candy, but he is also as intelligent and sensitive as you'd want a TV hero to be.
He can sniff out estrogen in a drop of blood at a crime scene, and he sleeps in a freezer. He can scale tall buildings in a single bound, but his heroine often has to save him from death. He's really a modern hero in that he is an anti-hero: He's strong, but not macho. He's hung up on the wife who made him a vampire, and the now-grown child he killed his wife to protect.
Mick St. John keeps one foot firmly in the realm of humans, as he struggles to hang on to his own humanity in the face of his bloodthirsty nature. It's a multi-layered internal battle, and Alex is a joy to watch every step along the way.

If narcissism, betrayal, and cowardice combined with a sexy intelligence and a hint of madness are more your bag...
2) James Callis from Sci Fi's Battlestar Galactica (Gaius Baltar)
Honestly, I might get voted off the island for this pick, but I can't help myself. James Callis (Gaius Baltar) is my favorite thing about Battlestar Galactica. There have been moments when I thought he may be thrown out of an airlock for his behavior, but I have vowed to stop watching if and when that happens. Gaius is a deeply flawed character, but I love his interactions with Six, and particularly in the first season, his weasily intelligence and arrogance. Can't say I love the long-haired bearded look, but James Callis has stolen my heart with his fearless portrayal. He (and my third guy) plays unlikeable fearlessly.
Callis may not be a beefcake or as tall as Six, but with his feline good looks, you have to admit, he is just sexy, sexy, sexy. He radiates intelligence, and that voice and that accent? I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers...

Finally, if you don't mind pill-popping misanthropes, this might be the guy for you...
3) Hugh Laurie from FOX's House (Gregory House)
It has occurred to me that my taste in men could be viewed as highly questionable based on this list. But honestly, there is little that is sexier than intelligence. Does it warm the cockles of your heart to know that William Petersen (Gil Grissom) was on my list before I had to pare it down? Nobody can accuse Grissom of being arrogant or cold. Well. Never mind.
But honestly, Hugh Laurie? Are you kidding me? Is there any man on television today who is sexier? (Well, you'll get to our number one post after Kristin's post, and he might just give Hugh a run for his money, and he is a legitimate beefcake...) Hugh Laurie has it all: Scruffy good looks, intelligence, wit, a deadly sense of comic timing, and best of all: Curiosity. Not to mention that he does it all while hobbling on a cane and faking an American accent.
If House is the only thing you've seen Laurie do, you are missing out. Run to your nearest video store during the writers' strike and watch his work on A Bit of Fry and Laurie and Blackadder.
The man rides a motorcycle for crying out loud: Need I say more?
