BSG: Razor Flashback - The war is over - VIDEO

by Keith McDuffee, posted Nov 20th 2007 9:40AM
bsg razor logoThe Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks conclude here. We've only got a few days more before the Razor movie hits the air, and even though I've already seen the movie twice, I'm definitely catching it again. Usually these mini-episodes that accompany seasons of other shows are dull and uninteresting (I didn't care much for those earlier BSG ones, honestly), but these flashbacks have been a breath of fresh air.

The video is embedded after the jump.

If my theory is correct, then, furthermore, the Cylons determined that they needed to create human versions of themselves. The genetic code of the human-Cylons and the Colonial-humans are meant to be merged together (the two races are supposed to interbreed) in order to create Earth humans. In other words, Boomer and Helo's daughter (and Callie and Tyrol's son) are actually, on a genetic level, Earth human babies.

This may have been future humanity's (on Earth) elaborate plan to save itself from some calamity which was going to destroy all humans on Earth.

franklin's theory fits well with what's been revealed so far. that would mean this show is actually set in the far-off future. it would also explain why it is that the fashion styles, culture, system of government, religion (all the stuff about the greek gods) and language of the colonials is like that of earth's.

if this is true, then the question is why did we (earth) create these replicant humans and send them off? does earth/earth humanity die off in the future? what is the current status of earth (which we saw in last season's finale)?

Interesting theory Franklin, I hope we will get the chance to see if you are right.

The final chapter of this mini-sode brought to my mind a pivotal arc in the series Babylon 5, when a war between humanity and an alien race came to a sudden end when the aliens called an armistace.

If a similar revelation is being played out on BSG, then it could be this: The Cylons discovered something shocking when they were dissecting and examining the humans. And maybe it's this: The Cylons discovered that the humans (the Colonials) were bio-genetically created by -- other humans... Earth humans.

So it could run in this order:

1) Earth humans created other humans, and these were the ones (the Colonials) who were sent far off to colonize other planets.

2) The Colonials created the Cylons.

3) Somehow, the history of #1 above has been forgotten. (Or the Earth humans intended for this to happen.)

I like the fact Adama seemed to have only flown the ship for about 10 minutes before crashing and the war being over.

Well, look at it this way. These "mini-episodes" were written to be part of the whole Razor movie and then taken out and clipped down. The previous seasons web-episodes were written specifically for that medium.

Different story, different approach, but same quality.

As to the final episode, does anyone here want to speculate on that final scene with Doral and Adama talking about Lee being available? I am teetering between it means something (as in the cylons wanted Lee there) and it being just a point to show us Adama was thinking about his previous mission at that point in time.
