Tim Kring explains that Heroes finale (sort of)

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 4th 2007 7:01PM

HeroesI have a lot of problems with last night's season/fall finale of Heroes, most of which have already been discussed in Jason's review, in the comments section and elsewhere in the blogosphere. Why didn't Hiro freeze time again when he got into the vault with Adam? Why didn't Peter just stop time when Nathan was shot? Why was Nathan's press conference indoors when he was about to announce he could fly? What's the sense in killing Nathan and not Matt and Peter, when they can just show the world their powers? Why can't Hiro just go back in time to prevent Nathan from being killed, or why don't they just use Claire's blood (or Peter's?) to save him? And on and on and on it goes. I guess that's the problem of introducing time travel and immortality to a story. Anything can happen so it all seems ridiculous. Still, the show is a blast and I'll be back for the third volume.

Creator Tim Kring has an interview over at TVGuide.com where he talks about the finale. I won't tell you everything he has to say (he doesn't give any hints as to what the fates of Nathan and Niki are), but I would guess that the most interesting news is that the strike might actually help the show in a (small) way. Since the filming has been pushed back, Zachary Quinto (Syler) will probably be done filming Star Trek and be available for Heroes full-time again.

And Hey Bruce,
You're right Heroes does sucks!
Tim Kring should write "Youfacethetick" into Heroes's storyline.
A giant retarded Tick is just what every sinking superhero show needs.
This is all so funny, I hope I will be able to laugh all the way to the bank with my documentary on this insane story.
A " angry Tick "e-mailed me today, does it get any better people?

Adam made the perfect villain. 400 years old which means an insane amount of knowledge and probably resources to pull on. Instead we get to keep sylar who would be a better fit in a horror movie. I'm sorry I admit the actor is great but they have taken sylar so far off the deep end as a character he is just disgusting and a detraction from the show. Add that to the fact that this entire season was predictable. Almost no twists no surprises. The finale was one long predictable slog to the end.

The villians continually get thier way because our "heroes" are just downright stupid.

This season was just downright dissapointing. A perfect concept that was never realized.

someone earlier said "Suspension of disbelief only works if the people depicted aren't so insanely stupid that it hurts your brain to watch them. "

That pretty much sums up every "hero" on the show.

Toyoufacethetick:
If you don't care about the nonsense lawsuit why did you bother to post moron?
Boo Hoo, Are you related to Tim Kring or anyone at NBC?
Who cares what you think about the lawsuit?
Yeah Bozo, I'm relating to these people, they're my children.I had them when I was two years old.

I will continue to bring up this lawsuit because I CAN and I have the POWER to say and do what I WANT. That's called FREEDOM, you should try it sometimes.

The lawsuit is nonsense alright, the lawsuit is why your favorite show Heroes is in the toilet, idiot.
No one cares about this lawsuit? Including your retarded e-mail, I've received over 897 e-mails today about this lawsuit and my documentary.smells like $$$$ to me.
Hey Tick or is it Dick? You're all by yourself in the hate you posted on this site.
Take your meds dude and find a life.

It's too bad this show insists on getting rid of the best actor on it in Adrian Pasdar (Nathan). We don't know for sure if he's dead yet, but it'd be kind of lame to bring him back from the dead twice. I can't believe both seasons have ended with him dying!! Ugh!

At least Nikki is gonzo.

And by the way, I don't understand the fascination with Elle. She is extremely annoying, and I think poorly acted. Her feud with Claire just reminds me of Mean Girls...it's absurd.

What's really sad is that it will take a upcoming article in "THE NEW TIMES" newspaper about how a lawsuit filed against NBC and Tim Kring for copyright infringement is the answer to you chorus of WHY? Why oh Why did Heroes go so wrong!
Just remember before this NY TIMES article comes out I was the first person to post about this lawsuit on this site.
After you've read this upcoming article I hope you all will come out to see my documentary.
Stay tune to all Heroes site for date, time and location of my doc's screening.

I lost interest at episode seven of season 2. I have 8, 9, 10, and 11 Tivo'd, but I just have not had the urge to watch them yet... if ever. Season 2 just... suckes.

Ummm... considering it was a scrapped together ending due to the writers strike, I would consider that finale a Godsend for the series. It might have lost alot more viewership if not for being cut short.

Seriously all this criticism for a show that's notorious for leaving things open-ended? Seriously, if you don't come to expect it and take some enjoyment out of it. Maybe you should watch something else.

and thirdly, Suspension of Disbelief. It's a show.. not reality. they can't possibly cover every angle, and yes people do stupid things like put a gun down to let someone inject them. Like a guy so blinded by his addiction to his powers, that he'll risk anything to get hem back. Sylar is a crack fiend for his power, he's nothing without it.

Nikki will die, her story has run it's course. She's no longer doing press and pimping herself out for the show. Nathan won't die. Maya should be dead just for that awful wail of a scream she has. Molly shoudl have shot Sylar ala The Simpsons, and Mohinder should just say "Thank You Please come again"

It's just a TV show guys, life goes on.

glad Nikki appears to be dead. The sooner her son dies the better. Peter and Hiro need to die too so the show can lose this crap with time freezing/jumping/undying.

Nathan is the only morally complex character but he was regulated to third tier in this really bad volume 2. For the sake of the actor, either give him more or let Pasdar move on.

Sylar is a boring villain. I want villains for sure but I don't want unkillable heroes or villains. It's boring. And Sylar is boring. He keeps getting caught and surviving but in lame ways. Again Mohinder could have stabbed him with an injection of air - Sylar put down the gun while a man he was threatening jabbed a needle in him? seriously for that alone Sylar deserved death.

Why did Peter have to rip the door open when he could have phased through the door, found the virus and nuked it. Adam was unneeded for that. He could have gotten rid of the virus and then simply got with Adam and Hiro to go back in time. Poof, see the past, problem solved, kill the so-so villain.

The show has been wretched this season. They better kill of West and that stupid crying chick soon.

Biggest disappointment to me was the "Boogeyman" This had so much potential and the villain even had the powers to back it up. They could have played it out more and made him more important rather than some lame henchman. I think one of the reviewers hit it on the spot for me with a finale where matt and his dead fight an epic battle in some sort of mind fight.

Fully valid comments. Time travel is such a massive power...it could be used to do anything basically.

Lots and lots of holes in the show...just goes to show that it is sloppily written and rather mediocre, but still enjoyable (I'm just watching it for Hiro Nakamura...and Kristen Bell).
