Dancing logoHere are the weekly TV ratings, by number of viewers.

A big week for ABC, as they grab the first five spots and eight spots overall in the top 20. That will change next week when Dancing with the Stars is no longer around (and will someone please tell all of the entertainment shows to stop talking about and/or to Marie Osmond? The show is over!). It's always great to see Christmas specials in the top 20 year after year.

1. Dancing with the Stars - Tues (ABC)

2. Dancing with the Stars - Mon (ABC)
3. Shrek The Halls (ABC)
4. Desperate Housewives (ABC)
5. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (ABC)
6. NCIS (CBS)
7. House (FOX)
8. Criminal Minds (CBS)
9. CSI: Miami (CBS)
10. Two and a Half Men (CBS)
11. CSI: NY (CBS)
12. Sunday Night Football (NBC)
13. Extreme Makeover (ABC)
14. The O.T. (FOX)
15. Survivor (CBS)
16. A Charlie Brown Christmas (ABC)
17. 60 Minutes (CBS)

Laziness?!? Crazy Talk! Lost is better than ever! I'm glad we have 3 set seasons now so I can watch the show in peace.

I think shows with good writing, good following but low ratings show be on for a minimum 2 seasons. I saw an episode last night of a season 1 Seinfeld. Simply painful!

As long as advertisers are willing to fill commercial slots for these fringe shows, most of them will remain on the air. Look how long Smallville has been on and it hasn't exactly been a ratings blockbuster. Networks need to give shows a chance to build an audience.. Some shows, like LOST were instant hits when they first premiered but due to laziness on the part of the writers, its audience diminished greatly.

No worries, i'm sure those open slots will just be another reality show or procedural. you Americans just have a knack to watch good shows *sarcasm*

-I'm gonna copy/paste this rant every week. -

There's only ONE show i watch on that list and it's House, like Bob said, are we just out of touch?, no one i know watches any of these shows. It's pathetic really.

And i watch ALOT of shows, so that means of all the shows i currently watch only House will get a new season? So that means Prison Break, Heroes, Journeyman, Reaper, Bionic Woman,Chuck,Dirty Sexy Money, Cane,Pushing Daisies,Smallville,Supernatural will all get cancelled or not get renewed? That's freaking ridiculous!

And it's like this EVERY SINGLE YEAR! I don't even know why networks even TRY to create new shows or even less serial shows, they could just have the same shows year after year and still win in ratings! Why try new things when the american people obviously don't want it?

It pisses me off since i'm such a huge TV lover, and every year 85% of the new shows i start watching get cancelled because all the stupid americans with the nielsen boxes decide they only want procedurals, reality shows and sitcoms. Why can't sitcoms die already? I thought they were almost dead but i guess you crazy americans still love to be told when to laugh.

Like i said in another post, they should REALLY destroy those nielsen boxes or give them to more intelligent people!

/end rant
