NBC's winter schedule

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Dec 7th 2007 7:03AM
Lipstick JungleIt was NBC's turn today to announce what its winter schedule would look like. The press release states that "NBC's first-quarter primetime schedule is slated to deliver significantly more hours of original programming than was ever the case in the first quarter of 2007." Besides the expected crop of reality and game shows, NBC's winter schedule will be filled with new episodes of series like ER, Friday Night Lights, Las Vegas, Medium, Scrubs and all three versions of Law & Order. Also added to the lineup will be Lipstick Jungle, a new dramedy starring Lindsay Price, Kim Raver and Brooke Shields.

Here is a summary of the press release:
  • American Gladiators, hosted by Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali, will make its long-awaited return on Sunday, January 6 at 9 p.m. and will settle in its regular 8 p.m. timeslot on Monday, January 7.
  • Law & Order will premiere on January 2 with a two-hour premiere and then settle in its timeslot on January 9 at 10 p.m.
  • Lipstick Jungle will premiere on February 7, taking ER's timeslot once all new episodes of the medical drama have aired.
  • Medium returns with new episodes on Monday, January 7 at 10 p.m.
  • The Baby Borrowers, described as "an intriguing new social experiment [...] that asks five diverse teenage couples to fast-track to adulthood" will debut on Monday, February 18 at 9 p.m.
  • The Celebrity Apprentice, Thursdays at 9 p.m.
Besides the shows I mentioned in the intro, 1 vs 100, Deal of No Deal, and The Biggest Loser are also returning with new episodes. The network will also air some Sunday night specials such as the Golden Globes on January 13, a live edition of The Guinness Book of World Records on January 27 and the Top 100 Most Outrageous Moments on February 10. There should be some reruns of NBC's Must See TV lineup on Thursdays.

"Bionic Woman" missing, that may be a mercy killing. However, I don't see "Life". I understood it was picked up for a whole season... when is it expected to return?

Remember that a lot of shows (including new ones) will have aired all their completed-before-the-strike episodes before the Holidays that is why some of them are not appearing in the winter schedule.

"Life" and "Chuck" were given it's back none order, but it doesn't mean a lot if there's no one available to write the episodes.
