Nickelodeon hops on the iceberg

by Paul Goebel, posted Dec 12th 2007 11:01AM

The penguinsNickelodeon has ordered 26 episodes of the new cartoon The Penguins of Madagascar.

Based on the characters from the film Madagascar, the show will depict the further adventures of the militaristic, adventurous penguins who escaped from the Central Park zoo in the film.

The animated show is a joint venture between Nickelodeon and Dreamworks marking the first time the two companies have collaborated on an animated TV project. The last animated show Dreamworks produced was the forgettable Alienators: Evolution Continues, which was based on the slightly less forgettable Evolution.

The series features the voice talents of Tom McGrath, Jeff Bennett, James Patrick Stuart, John DiMaggio and my close personal friend Danny Jacobs.

Look for the show in early 2009.

Oreo,

It's clear you think everything sucks, so just sell your tv, move out of mom's basement and find a nice girl, guy, blow-up doll or whatever turns you on (if anything does). Pseudo-intellictual, overly aloof twentysomething males such as yourself are a dime a dozen and more annoying than flesh-eating bacteria. You I can do without.

Oreo,

Don't forget Sacha Baron Cohen's performance, that was pretty good too. I'll give you that the penguins were the best, and totally upstaged anything the "leads" were doing (or trying to do).

I would definitely watch a penguins show.

Madagascar was a terrible movie, except for the penguins, so I'm glad they will get their own show.
