Holiday spinoffs I'd like to see
As I was watching all my favorite holiday specials this season, it became clear to me that there's a desperate need for some new offerings. Then I started thinking that if weekly shows can spinoff characters then why can't specials? With that in mind, here are my ideas for spinoffs to make your holidays more festive.
Out of the Box
Nobody wants a Charlie in the Box...except Charlie. After years of being not being delivered by Santa Claus, Charlie from the island of misfit toys decides it's time to make a change. Determined to find himself and discover what he was really made for, Charlie travels the country living on the road and meeting adventures head on. After living the life of Kerouac, Charlie returns to share his wisdom with the jelly squirting gun, ostrich riding cowboy and the doll with the unnamed condition.
Winter & The Professor
After turning over new leaves in their respective specials, Old Man Winter and Professor Hinkle join forces and use their magic skills to help those in need in New York City. Unfortunately, their limited magic is rarely up to the task and they are forced to use their equally limited wits to make up for it. To make matters worse, newly elected Mayor Meisterburger is always one step behind them.
The Miser Brothers Comedy Hour
After learning how to work together, Heat Miser and Snow Miser realized that what they've always wanted to do was make people laugh. Now, along with a team of hilarious little second bananas who look just like them, the two brothers entertain the world with a mixture of skits songs and comedy routines that are simultaneously hot as flame and cool as ice.
A Very Brady Chanukah
After the death of Mike Brady, Cindy (the youngest one in curls) is so distraught that she finds herself with no direction in her life. With the help of next door neighbors, The Ditmeiers, Cindy decides to convert to Judaism. (This special is likely to be a flop as none of the original cast agreed to participate.)
CindyLu W. - Portrait of a Nogaholic
Everyone thought little CindyLu Who was just crazy about Christmas. What they eventually learned was that Cindy had a problem. She couldn't get enough egg nog. At first it was simply an annual tradition but eventually she was drinking egg nog at every meal, not just with her roast beast. Her best friend, The Grinch, eventually learns her secret and convinces her to seek help at the Whoville rehab center. In the end, she emerges a recovered nog addict ready to embark on step one of her recovery, making "whomends."
