Nielsen ratings for the week ending December 16

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 19th 2007 2:04PM

SurvivorHere are the weekly TV ratings, by number of viewers.

Well, with eight shows of the top 10 (and 11 out of the top 20), I would say that CBS is really happy with the ratings this week. NBC makes an appearance, but it's all Deal or No Deal (except for football, which will be over in a few weeks or so). Good to see The Simpsons jump in there, with their new episode last week.

1. CSI (CBS)
2. Without A Trace (CBS)
3. Survivor - Finale (CBS)

4. Sunday Night Football (NBC)
5. Survivor (CBS)
6. CSI (CBS)
7. Criminal Minds (CBS)
8. CSI: Miami (CBS)
9. 60 Minutes (CBS)
10. The OT (FOX)
11. Deal or No Deal - Weds (NBC)
12. Deal or No Deal - Mon (NBC)
13. Survivor - Reunion (CBS)
14. NCIS (CBS)
15. Extreme Makeover (ABC)
16. Two and a Half Men (CBS)
17. Deal or No Deal - Tues (NBC)
18. Sunday Night Pre-Kick (NBC)
19. The Simpsons (FOX)
20. The Biggest Loser (NBC)

-I'm gonna copy/paste this rant every week. -

There are ZERO shows i watch on this list. Sitcoms, reality shows, game shows and procedurals. No wonder the writers are on strike. What self respecting writer would want to write for an audience who is totally brain dead?

And i watch ALOT of shows, so that means of all the shows i currently watch only House will get a new season? So that means Prison Break, Heroes, Journeyman, Reaper, Bionic Woman,Chuck,Dirty Sexy Money, Cane,Pushing Daisies,Smallville,Supernatural will all get cancelled or not get renewed? That's freaking ridiculous!

And it's like this EVERY SINGLE YEAR! I don't even know why networks even TRY to create new shows or even less serial shows, they could just have the same shows year after year and still win in ratings! Why try new things when the american people obviously don't want it?

It pisses me off since i'm such a huge TV lover, and every year 85% of the new shows i start watching get cancelled because all the stupid americans with the nielsen boxes decide they only want procedurals, reality shows and sitcoms. Why can't sitcoms die already? I thought they were almost dead but i guess you crazy americans still love to be told when to laugh.

Like i said in another post, they should REALLY destroy those nielsen boxes or give them to more intelligent people!

Speaking of Survivor, why isn't anybody on the ball about the whole Denise the lunch lady scandal?

Come on guys! That's like a whole 3 bucks worth of TVS cash being squandered.
