John Gibson mocks Heath Ledger's death

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 24th 2008 3:01PM

Scarborough - MSNBCJohn Gibson, the mentally unbalanced guy who hosts a daily show on FOX News, went even more overboard on his radio show (syndicated by Fox Radio Network) yesterday.

Gibson opened his radio show with funeral march music and an audio clip from Brokeback Mountain, then said "Well, he found out how to quit you," referring to the line Ledger says in the movie to Jake Gyllenhaal. He then said that Ledger was a "weirdo" and speculated that he killed himself either because he had money in the stock market or because he watched the Obama/Clinton debate. Joe Scarborough played the audio on his MSNBC show this morning and had some comments of his own for Gibson, saying the comments were "as callous and harsh as anything I've ever heard" and "unspeakably rude."

John, maybe you should just stick to worrying about the non-existent "war on Christmas" you talk about every year?

It's FOUL, disrepectful to the Ledger family and unnecessary. John Gibson should have stayed away from mocking Heath Ledger's death. Maybe he got tired of the extensive coverage of Ledger that he wanted to say that.

Oh come on..the only reason his death got this much attention,,,is because he made a Gay movie....I'll bet if you check the obits,,,,many worthy people who loved life and lived a decent, morale life,,died this day too. He was no more special then any of these. Give it to Hollywood and the media to blow this all out of porportion.

How dare you have no compassion or simple politeness to a family who at this time is grieving for the loss of a son, a father, a friend, and so much more at this time. You should sit and think before you speak I was always taught to think first and oviously your morals are not what they seem are they or you would of used better judgement then to say something like that without knowing all the facts or assuming something as when you assume or make acusations like this then you are only making a donkeys behind out of yourself.. SHAME ON YOU SHAME ON YOU

So much about America and Americans inspires the world, and is without peer. Then there are gutter-journalists like this, who unfortunately promote much of the anti-American feeling in the world. But America and Australia are democracies, and we will fight for the right of pond-life like this to spread their venom, because, unfortunately, it is the dark side of freedom of speech; freedom of expression. Heath Ledger was loved in all parts of Australia, but particularly his home-town of Perth. He was an amazing, greatly loved young person who never grew too important to remember to love the people and places among whom he grew to be the amazing talent that set screens alight with his performances since he was a teenager. He has family and loved ones whose grief cannot be imagined at this time, and the world has lost a special person, a luminous talent. So much is written on blogs and by some journalists, that diminishes the human race. Thank God, there are some, like Heath, who realise and showcase their limitless potential. We in Perth will truly miss one of our most famous sons, as I am sure most you, too, living in America will grieve at the loss, far too soon of an outstanding performer who, during his short life reached deep within and far beyond himself to show us all what each of us could do with the talents which we too, have been blessed. Heath, we will all miss you, so much, and our love and deepest sympathy goes out to your family and loved ones.

He ought to be careful making such remarks about a well loved Australian when his ultimate boss (ie one Rupert Murdoch) is of Australian descent (despite being a US citizen)......

A REAL Cowboy

How many mourning 'star-struck' chicks ever noted 'Heathys' RECEDING hairline? I just saw a picture of his dad whose haircut makes like 'Kojack' so when 'Heathy' too became a NUDE-NUT in a few short years would all these hopefuls have still called him a 'hottie'?
I DON'T think so!
I just KNOW that most chicks like to run their fingers through nice thick hair - just LIKE John Gibsons!
