A Daily Show: January 24, 2008 - VIDEO

John Oliver"Indecision 2008": Daily Show usually focuses its mockery upon the political figures in the news, but when Jon starts riffing on the pundits and mass media, spectacular things happen. This night, Jon took on the media's exaggerations of Mitt Romney and Bill Clinton's so-called outbursts. Apparently, any sort of upward inflection is considered to be scary and abrasive. Also, I have learned that any jokes that have visual references to Pompeii are a-okay with me.

Senior Analyst Samantha Bee stopped by to report on the "Daily Show-vinist" Jon Stewart's overreactions. This was pretty funny, but maybe my sarcasm radar needs a bit of tuning. Is Samantha Bee really pregnant again? I mean, it seems like a pretty random joke to make, so I'm wondering if it's really true. If so, I guess it won't be long until Jason Jones does another daddy segment.

"Wilmore/Oliver Investigates": This was an old segment from way back in October, but it was still good to see some work from the epic team of Larry Wilmore and John Oliver. I hope that they do more pieces together once the strike is resolved. By the way, John Oliver is taping a Comedy Central stand-up special on February 20th, so if you can make it to NYC on that day, grab some tickets and get some sweet Oliver action.

The night's guest was CNN's Gerri Willis. Economy talk is always exciting, isn't it? The part that I enjoyed the most was the part where Willis had to comment on those fun clips.

Jon/Stephen: No toss all week? My heart is broken. Moment of Zen: According to FOX News, Hillary Clinton doesn't even sneeze without it being planned. Nice folks, those FOX Newsers.

Watchign Jon Stewart go out of his way to defend the Clintons is amazing. Even HuffingtonPost had a article which illustrated Bill and Hillary's lies against Obama, but God forbid truth block the way Steart defends them. I love "A" Daily Show, but Jon... keep your bias directed at Republicans and their stupidity constantly covered by you.

How did he go "out of his way to defend the Clintons"? He gave two examples of the media claiming that individuals had erupted in angry outbursts, and then showed clips of the two individuals so you could judge for yourself: Mitt Romney and Bill Clinton. Did you think that either of the two men were erupting in angry outbursts? Did either of them raise their voices? Did either of them lose the smiles on their faces? So why is it that you claim that Stewart went out of his way to defend Clinton (the issue WASN'T what he was saying or had said, but HOW he was saying it), but don't say anything about him going out of his way to defend Romney?

Sam Bee looked kind of odd last night, like her skin wasn't on properly. That said, as I was watching her I thought "she looks pregnant" and then she said she was, so I don't think it was sarcasm.
