Gary Coleman weds on remote mountaintop

by Brad Trechak, posted Feb 13th 2008 10:24AM
Gary Coleman and his new wifeAt the age of 40, it looks like Gary Coleman finally tied the knot. The 4-foot-8 actor married 5-foot-7, 22-year-old Shannon Price on a Nevada mountaintop in a private ceremony. The couple met on the set of the movie "Church Ball".

Strangely enough, the couple got married all the way back in August. Price told Inside Edition that the reason for their secrecy was because "I just want my own identity as well because I don't want to be known as Gary Coleman's wife."

Of course, Coleman is best known for his role of Arnold Jackson in the 1980's series Diff'rent Strokes. It's nice to hear that he's having some good fortune since the actors playing the kids on that show have had notably bad fortune since it ended.

Perhaps it's the cynic in me, but somehow this strikes me as the beginning of one of those short-lived Hollywood marriages. Price wasn't even born when Diff'rent Strokes was a phenomenon. However, true love knows no boundaries and I sincerely hope my theory is proven wrong.

The imagination runs wild at the thought of any marital spats they may have. I envision Coleman saying "What choo talkin' 'bout, Shannon?"

If true, this "short-lived Hollywood marriage" has already lasted longer than most Hollywood marriages.

After peaking at the Inside Edition article, I see reason for you to believe it could be a "short-lived Hollywood marriage." Some of those things don't sound so healthy. I wouldn't call it a Hollywood thing though. Next time, I recommend including the not talking to each other, locking themselves in rooms, throwing printers, and police calls when saying it might not last.

Given that it sounds like Gary's a wee bit abusive (throwing stuff at her?!), yeah, "short-lived" sounds accurate. That shit ain't cool.

More power to him. Mr. Coleman seems to have lived a rather troubled life that was not all of his own doing. From financial problems caused by his own parents, the health issues, and a career and social life that peaked in his teen years, it couldn't have been easy.

She married him for his money. lol

But really, good for him. I do agree with what he says about age, it doesn't matter, it's only a mind set.
