Kellie Pickler has advice for new Idol contestants - VIDEO

Kelly Pickler on American Idol Season 6Kellie Pickler gained infamy for her dim-witted charm on Season 5 of American Idol, and has since gone on to some success in the country music field. She had a memorable return to the show that launched her career last year, facing off against Ryan Seacrest who wondered if she'd picked up a new pair of ... oh, anything with the money she'd made since leaving the show.

Now, she's offering sage advice through People magazine, to this year's crop of Idol-wannabes. I'm sorry, but there's plenty of people I'd gladly take advice from, but "Pick Pickler" is hardly one of them. I still can't decide if the bumpkin idiocy is a farce, in which case she's brilliant, or real. If it's real then ... wow!

Need more American Idol? Get an inside look at Season 7's contestants and think back to these scathing (and hilarious) Simon Cowell quotes.

Pickler's words of wisdom are pretty much the same that anyone would give about celebrity or success. Hell, lottery winners go through the same problems she mentions. "It's not necessarily you that changes but it's the people around you that change," she says. "No one that I was close with before am I even remotely close to now. I have maybe three people in my life now that have been amazing through the whole process."

But her most deep and profound revelation? "Stay away from mean people!" You tell 'em Kellie! Stay away from those mean people ... like Simon. Wait, that won't work.

To relive one of Kellie's more recent moments of genius, and why you should have her guiding the path you take in life, here she is on FOX's Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?.

This season's Top 12 women seem to have enough professional experience between them that they could probably offer Kelli advice.

"I thought Europe was a country."
"I don't think France is a country."

----I don't know what goes on in the American education system, but I hope she's an anomaly.

That said, I do love her sunny disposition.

I will add that the American Idol money spent for her implants may have been best spent on tutoring for basic geography, grammar, and I would bet mathematics.

I can't see how the Smarter than a 5th Grader could have been cut in a way that was unflattering. I will say that she carried herself rather well for what would have been for others a rather embarrassing situation.

I am not sure she was really aware that it was embarrassing, which is perhaps more embarrassing. Which leads me to what I think was Jason's point.

She may be nice, of this I have no doubt. But you can be nice and stupid as well and she seems to fit the bill. And I believe this is why people would not take any advice Kellie would give seriously. Even advice on American Idol.

I've watched every season of American Idol....and by far....WAY FAR (!!!) Kellie Pickler was my biggest delight. I am happy with the winners, and they did outsing Miss Pickler, but she brought laughter, joy, and innocence back to a venue that could surely use it (TV) and I thank her and the producers for that. So let the world know...58 year old DUMBnEASY loves Kellie Pickler. It would also hurt none of you to be nice in this instance.

You're an ass, I bet it's safe to assume that you have not really kept up on Kellie's career even remotely . That you really don't have a clue about her, or her life. You may see or hear something in media or on the web, and assume things. What you don't consider is the fact that media , news etc.. take things and turn them into more then they are , twist things til they rarely resemble the truth , can no longer be recognized as the truth.

If you knew anything about Kellie, or her career, what she's done for others, etc. You wouldn't be so rude, so judgemental.

Must make you feel good, to make others feel like crap, to put them down. Well as long as you feel great right.

Yes Kellie hears this crap, reads this crap. Maybe not your blog, but others like it, who as well no nothing about her. Because they don't take the time to. If they did they would have different opinion of her.

Guess this won't be one of the good reads I mention to her tomorrow when I talk to her.
