NBC to stream classic series

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 20th 2008 10:28AM
MiamiViceIf you're really into watching classic TV on the web, like AOL's fare at In2TV, you're going to be thrilled to hear that NBC today unfurled a line-up of oldies-but-goodies to stream on their entertainment sites -- NBC.com, SCIFI.com, ChillerTV.com and SleuthChannel.com. NBC is providing full episodes, people, streaming and waiting to be viewed, beginning this month. It's quite a variety of shows too (including some crossovers from one site to the other). "These are the kinds of titles we get requests for all the time at the network, and now we're able to give our viewers a new way to watch their favorite classic shows and share them with their friends," said Craig Engler, Senior Vice President, SCIFI.com.

Here's the list of streaming vintage series and where you can find them:

NBC.com: A-Team, Emergency, Night Gallery, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Miami Vice, Battlestar Galactica (1978) and Buck Rogers.

SCIFI.com: Battlestar Galactica (1978), Buck Rogers, Tek War, Night Gallery.

ChillerTV.com: The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Swamp Thing, Tremors, Crow, Night Gallery.

SleuthChannel.com: Kojak, Miami Vice, Simon & Simon, A-Team, Night Gallery.

if you are looking for multi-lingual tv, online tv social community, social tv network, internet tv stations, tv channels, free global internet tv, broadband channels, live webcast, customized tv programmes, After testing various TV software and visiting loads of sites. most of them offer a free trial or preview and then they make you pay to sign up, or are cluttered with ads. I think that is ridiculous... so ive done my research and have found a couple of really decent sites. You can search through genre, country, region or name of the channel. oh and there are no ads either. Check this one out. With over 1300 channels from hundreds of countries, loads of features like channel rating, user recommendations, live chat, profile pages and much much more.

Lemme check if these are at the much better interface known as Hulu...

Checked! Okay, that's really, really weird. Tek War is the only one not on Hulu.

I hope NBC adds more recent shows, like the Law & Order and Homicide crossovers. I've seen the Homicide parts on DVD, but I don't think the Law & Order parts are on DVD. It would be nice to have a way to see both parts of the crossovers.

Watch it on TNT. They have regularly shown the corresponding Homicide episodes along side their regular Law and Order reruns.

Why are first season episodes only shown at 5 in the morning?

Good thing the writer's strike is over.

What, no "Man From U.N.C.L.E.?" No "I Spy"? (you can see what I was obsessed with as a kid...)
