CBS gives thumbs up for more reality shows

JamieKennedyOnce upon a time, in the 1960's, the TV landscape was rife with westerns. In the 1970s, it was detective shows. Nowadays, the same can be said for reality shows, and it seems there's no end in sight to the genre. Today, CBS reported two new reality programs in development. Splitsville, which was previously announced, is now going into production. The marital-based series, which comic Jamie Kennedy is executive producing, is not about happy unions. It sounds more like Divorce Court meets Let's Make A Deal, with divorcing husbands and wives battling over their belongings in a series of competitive challenges. Hmm...can't wait to root for those people!

The other new CBS reality show comes from Tom Forman, the man behind Kid Nation. The show is still untitled, but will deal with crime victims who are helped by a team of law enforcement officials.

The greenlight for these two pilots comes soon after CBS ordered three other reality shows in January: Game Show in My Head, Secret Talents of the Stars and America's Top Dog. CBS is getting really real, you think?

As we journey unto a way of life giving all to everyone. We must first create a basic understanding based upon the common law governed by a formula conceived by all. For only one formula conceived by all can please all. Now that there is a way for all to put their 2 cents in we all can truly become all in all without giving the final say to anyone but each one we are. It's working let's not blow it and give up half way.

Horrible. Just what the world needs. More mindless reality shows. Something is wrong here and it's Ratings. An old system of deciding whether a show stays or goes is being used. Reality, game shows will always (for the most part) do better than dramas because people will TIVO dramas or watch them online at a time that they can devote their full attention to. Reality shows can be watched mindlessly while the show is on. Television needs to catch up with the times and judge who is watching their shows better. The Networks need to be adding up not only real time numbers by a very very small and select group of Nielson viewrs. They also need to add up people who are not Nielson families, people who TIVO their shows to watch at another time and people who are downloading shows online. THEN and only THEN will we see trully who watches what. I think these results will greatly change the way networks view what is and what isn't successful.

There is enough reality shows. Everyone has there own
problems and most of don't care to watch someone elses
problems. We need a good show on the air like "Cane".
I don't understand, everytime you people but a half good
show on the air, we finally get into watching it and you
people take it off. I think you should let the people vote
on the internet on what we should watch on tv!!!!

That's it, except for a couple of shows, CBS is off my watching list...
NCIS and CSI is it, unless of course we get a 3rd season of Jericho.....
