Survivor Micronesia: I Should Be Carried on the Chariot-Type Thing!

The fans are looking defiant ... mostly.
(S16E03)
We're three episodes into Survivor Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites and I still have trouble remembering who the one timid-looking fan is in this image. Oh, yeah. I know Krazy Kathy. And who could forget Joel?

I'm up to snuff on my faves tribe, though. But as I watched tonight's show, I happened to walk away from the set for a minute and it all came back to me. Jonathan Penner has totally stolen Alan Alda's voice. I remember it now from his season, but it's still evident. How did he do that? And, what does Alan Alda think about Jonathan Penner stealing his voice?

Now, before I get really started here, let me tell you straight-up point blank no holds barred -- I am not a happy camper. So, if you detect a snarling and surly undertone to my writing, you're very astute and extremely accurate. Heck, I think I might be gnashing my teeth a bit, or something to that effect. Will gnashing my teeth do any permanent damage? I guess I should stop that.

For the first time this season, they had a separate rewards challenge and brutal one at that. They got to don war paint and go to battle. Although I thought one of the fan girls looked more like an evil mime than a warrior, in the end the make-up didn't matter. In a torrential downpour while in the water, the tribes had to get five canvas bags into their end zone.

I think Eric from the fans tribe went way too far when he first deliberately bonked Eliza hard on the head with one of the heavy bags just to be mean. Then he took Amanda right over his head and slammed her into the water! Gack! What is with this kid? James looked almost like a superhero to the rescue when he saw Eric dump Amanda and I think that may have been the impetus of the favorites' win.

I liked the idea of the catalog for choosing three reward items. I know they've used that sort of thing before but it gives the tribes more of a chance to get what they think they need the most. I notice both tribes chose shelter. With that monsoon about to arrive, it was definitely a wise choice.

I think the favorites were probably wise in sending Kathy once again to Exile Island. Why give two separate members of the opposing tribe a chance at the hidden idol? For all they know, she might have it already. I suppose Cirie might have an inkling whether Kathy has the idol or not, but I don't think she can be sure unless she herself has it. Why they sent Ami to accompany her, I don't have a clue.

Now it's time for me to get my surliness on.

I always enjoyed Cirie Fields. She's a local gal out of Jersey City, she really went so far in her own season coming in as quite the underdog city girl. She always seemed like someone I would even choose as a friend kind of thing.

But then ... I adore Yau-Man Chan. He's so much fun to watch, he's an intelligent guy, and he also proved his mettle in his own season getting well beyond so many on the show. If I had to choose between Yau-Man and Cirie, I'd go for the Yau-Man every time. He's more of a player, doesn't depend as much on others.

Cirie, on the other hand, has somehow gotten the impression this season that she's the Queen and should be pampered by all of the others for her vote. How did this all come about? Jonathan Penner never thrilled me, but he called this one so right. Are they blind? Cirie has it in her head that Yau-Man is one of the biggest liars ever on Survivor and I'm just not seeing where she gets that from. I know it stems from him having hidden idols in his season, but how is that anything other than good game-playing?

The immunity challenge should have been stacked up in favor of the favorites. I noticed they had their two bulkiest guys (James and Jonathan) holding the rope along with Cirie and Amanda (Cirie's pretty substantial and Amanda is athletic). The fans only had one bulky guy (Joel) along with three relative lightweights. But what did the favorites in was that the fans made more "hoops" thus making their net heavier until they lost it.

Then all the scheming started. I just can't figure out what spell Cirie has cast over them all. It was pitiful seeing Ozzy actually begging her to change her mind and vote out Eliza. Jonathan has always wanted Parvati out, so I don't really hold any shock over him pushing that idea. Eliza is the weakest physical link on the tribe right now with it being a tribal game until the merge. But it's like Cirie has all the control. I'm befuddled, I tell you.

The Tribal Council was more rowdy than most and I think it's likely that both Cirie and Jonathan may have put targets on their backs. Oh, wait. Cirie has magical powers. Okay, Jonathan put a target on his own back, that is.

Jonathan and Yau-Man voted for Parvati, Ami voted for Cirie (and I respect her so much more tor that!), and the rest all voted Yau-Man out.

Cirie Fields is off of my Christmas card list.

Who do you want voted off of the favorites team next?
Jonathan57 (12.3%)
Cirie286 (61.6%)
Eliza60 (12.9%)
James3 (0.6%)
Ozzy4 (0.9%)
Amanda4 (0.9%)
Parvati50 (10.8%)

The timid looking one is Alexis Jones. She certainly seems to be playing it low key, although she seems tough in the challenges and smart. She may be the "sleeper" and the one to watch in this series.

For all the Cirie haters out there, had Yau-Man made the same play, you all would have lauded him as a genius and then posted about that's how the game should be played. Cirie targeted Yau-Man now precisely because he would not necessarily be expecting it (all the Parvati, Eliza talk) and because he has not been to Exile Island and the others wouldn't have to fear him using the idol. Like Philip said in post #11, Cirie made a bold statement in taking the power that was up for grabs. By being staunch in her vote for Yau, she was sending a subtle clue to Amanda and Parvati that she could be counted on to follow their plan for the Final 3. Cirie also sized up her competition and manipulated others into making the best decision for her game. Isn't that Survivor 101? Come on, people... stop drinking the Yau-Man kool-aid and accept that Cirie made a masterful play.

The favorites should have learned their lesson the first time around.

When you are in a group, you vote the weakest link out first. You keep your strongest players until the merge. At the merge is when you start voting off the strongest players.

Yau Man is smart, why vote him off. Cirie is flip flopper, I would use her for her strengths but I would vote her off soon because she is lazy around the camp. She wants people to wait on her hand and foot. She is the Queen of the Nile. LOL

I just hope that she is voted off next.

I'm not happy Yau Man is gone. He really was one of my favorites. I can't believe that Cirie was able to call the shots last night. I realize that without her they are four and four, but having someone with that much power early in the game is not a good thing. Hopefully they will realize this and get rid of her asap especially since she is useless physically as a team player. As I recall she won only one challenge during her season and it was "how much do you know about your team players". Hmmmmmmm

i'm sorry but cirie as a player just stinks... my idea of a strong player is alot more than just latching on to a strong team and being an extra vote

Huh? In one fell swoop, she managed to single-handedly get one of the alliances to do what she wanted to do, AND totally decimate the other alliance. I'd say that's some pretty darn GOOD game playing. How is that "latching on"? After last night, no one can ever accuse her of being a coat-tail rider. Cirie all the way!

I believe that Parvati was holding the net, not Amanda. They showed Amanda several times throwing coconuts.

I wish everyone would have become fed up with Cirie's BS and voted her off - it would have left them with four and four - and we would have had a tie the next time they showed up for tribal council - that would have been good TV!!!

Why did Eliza vote for Yau? Maybe she made a deal with the couples that they would not vote for her if she would vote Yau. Also, why did Ami vote Cirie? What a waste of a vote. But I guess it didn't really matter in the end.

I think that Eliza voted for Yau to try to save herself. You heard Jonathon talking about how he was just hoping that Cirie and the two couples wouldn't be able to come to a unanimous decision and split between Eliza and Yau. Well, Eliza must have also figured that was a possibility, so she voted for Yau to go instead of her. It's not the smartest thing to turn on your alliance, but it makes sense if you're certain you're gonna get some votes.

Ozzie should of stuck to his guns (with his Eliza pick)-- during Yau's season he at times single handedly won challenges. You could've voted him out later.

Actually if I was Ozzie and James, after she demanded it be Yau I'd of voted Cirie out.
Don't get me wrong I like Cirie, and she was just sayin that's her vote -- take it or leave it-- but if she wants to be hooked up with a group demanding a vote goes one way isn't the best way to get into a foursome.

I actually didn't think Yau would go- he just wasn't featured enough in the episode, shows me huh

I have to say I love Ami. I think she should've won her season. Love her. She beautiful as well. I'm a gay guy but I got a crush on her
but what's with Eliza and Ami just being around when the love group (James, Ozzie , Amanda and Parvati) and Cirie were talking votes. Just seemed odd, did anyone notice that
