CSI: Magic Mountain - it's true

It doesn't take a rocket scientist, let alone a forensic specialist, to detect that the CSI franchise is hot. CBS currently boasts three shows with CSI in the title -- CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York -- four if you include the non-Jerry Bruckheimer produced military procedural NCIS. So, then, it shouldn't come as a surprise that CSI is expanding. No, there's not a new CSI TV show happening, but there is an amusement park variation on CSI coming to life at Magic Mountain, the Valencia, California tourist attraction. (By the way, isn't it nice that Valencia didn't get nuked for real like it did on 24 last season?)It's been announced that at Six Flags Magic Mountain, beginning on June 14, CSI: Live will premiere June 14 -- and be shown multiple times throughout the day from then on. The interactive production is a way for fans of the show to simulate the fun of solving a crime the way the characters on CSI do. In 30 minutes, participants sitting in the Magic Moments Theater, will watch a crime take place and have to decipher the clues to figure out who did it and how. Kinda like mystery dinner theater -- without the prime rib. Hopefully, any autopsy scenes will not be too graphic!
To add to the verisimilitude, such as it is, CSI: Live has the CBS cast members providing voice-overs and videotaped clues, including star William Petersen, who's not known for being so sanguine about doing stuff like this. Other actors from the cast are also lending their talents in voice-overs and videotaped clues.
