Patrick Swayze pilot still a go despite cancer diagnosis

by Richard Keller, posted Mar 5th 2008 11:25PM

The show must go on for Patrick SwayzeNo, you read correctly on both counts. Patrick Swayze, who is known mostly for his roles in movies such as Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing, Road House, and Ghost, is currently working on a pilot for a new A&E drama series. And, this is still going on despite the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.

According to doctors treating the actor, his continued participation in the pilot process can take place because he has a very limited amount of disease and seems to be responding to treatment. I'm not a doctor, but I would think "very limited amount of disease" translates to the fact that they caught the cancer early enough. Representatives for Swayze say that he is continuing his normal schedule, which includes working on the pilot The Beast. The show, still under consideration by A&E, focuses on Patrick as an unorthodox FBI veteran.

While I mentioned that Swayze is known mostly for his movie roles he does have past history with television. In 1981 he was cast as a soldier with leukemia on M*A*S*H. Later that decade he starred as Orry Main in the ABC mini-series North and South and its sequel. His most famous television role is most likely his Chippendale's dance sequence with Chris Farley on Saturday Night Live.

I was given a short time to live after being treated for months at a world famous cancer center. My son heard Dr. June Meymand on a radio talk show and was impressed. I got into see her immediately and while I was there I met several current patients. Most of them had the same bleak prognosis I was given, a few months at best. Dr. June Meymand is truely a force to be reckoned with. She puts together your specific program working with a team of doctors that she assembles. Each of which is the best in their particular field. All of the patients I met was essentially sent home to die! Some had been in remission for 10, 11, 16 years. Some were just starting their program and others were just living life, getting treated, going to work, enjoying thier kids, etc. They are considered Chronic cancer patients until they go into complete remission. I am now at that point after nine months. I have hope, I feel great, I am under regular treatments with my team of doctors and my cancer is 60% gone. www.healthyalternatives.net will show you how to contact this amazing doctor and she will fight for your life.

I am Roger Stump, one of many pancreatic cancer survivors from Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I was diagnosed 3-1/2 years ago with stage 4 PC with heavy mets to the liver. The 1st two doctors gave me only months to live. CTCA gave me hope and a special treatment to get the cancer out of my liver. After only 8 months of treatments, I was found to be "cancer free" during a PET scan and have remained that way ever since. I thank GOD for leading me to them!

GOD bless

Also told a friend of mine that his doctors only gave him 6mts to live back in 06. Honestly i dont know if this remedy had anything to do with it but i believe it did. My God Patrick you'd better beat this. What would you dad say if you let this take you out without an all out assault on this disease. I was only 18 when I was diagnosed and give 6 months to live. My parents were devasted, but one they regained composure, they researched all the standard and not-so-standard treatments options. We couldn't decide which to go with. So we went with both. Chemo, radical invasive surgeries, and Latril B17. It's what all these people are talking about in apricot pits. Combined with the healthiest of diets. All natural fruits/juices/vegitables, vitamins and plenty of them, no white sugar, no alcohol, no smoking, and plenty of exercise. I don't know which it was or both programs working together, but it was 1981 when they told me it was over. Here I am writing to you and your family/friends in 2008. Please try more than one option. Think outside the box like you never have before. The standard treatments do work, but perhaps not enough. They need a little natural help. You can and I believe, will defeat this Patrick. I did, and I wasn't all that you are physically or mentally. Like to make a bet?
I hate giving this email out, but I won't just give up. You won't either. The world needs you. You're not allowed to leave yet. So do what's necessary and come back to your family and friends like right about now.

My life companion is also fighting pancreatic cancer, and he is being given exceptional treatment in Pittsburgh, through the Hillman Cancer Center. To Patrick and his wife: please ignore the statistics....the only case that matters is your own, and the best tool you have is your attitude. People can and do survive this horrible disease, medical advances are being made and there are clinical trials to investigate, if you have not already done so. If you would like to contact me, I would be happy to provide any info I have, along with prayers and positive energy.

I was just reading testimonies of pancreatic cancer survivors from a treatment center in Illinois: Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Zion, Illinois. My husband died after a month after receiving traditional therapy from a Univ. Hospital in 2003. However, this Center looks to be so promising. If there is any way to get this message to Patrick Swayze, please forward it to him. I'm trying to find a way to email him this information. Following is one of the testimonies: www.cancercenter.com/pancreatic-cancer/survivors/roger-stump.cfm

Patrick I am 60 yr old woman who adores you and want you to know that my son had (rhabdomyosarcome) AGRESSIVE type of cancer. That was a year ago and his Dr. wanted to take more cancer out and do all the cancer therapy. He said no. Drs. said you are a fool. He went out and search and our prayers were answered. He found treatments that I cannot mention here. And in January his pet test came back neg. So the Dr said it is a miracle because I cannot find any cancer in your body.
That was his 3rd opinion Dr.
So Patrick don't let the radiation and chemo kill you.
Oxygen kills cancer cells.
If you get this contact me personally.

God Bless
