Big Brother 9: PoV Competition #4
(S09E13) Take a look at this face ladies and gentlemen, because it was the catalyst for all the madness that went down in the house tonight.
The funny thing is, she didn't plan any of it. She has no real strategy in this game. She doesn't think more than ten minutes into the future as far posturing goes. And she thinks there are 27 letters in the alphabet. Enough said. Natalie is playing this game with love goggles on and, for better or worse, her undying obsession with Mattie has caused the biggest commotion in the Big Brother 9 house all season and I'm elated.
This season has been a tad on the dry side so it's nice to see an unexpected party be the reason things are getting interesting.
I just love how predictably unpredictable this game can be sometimes. Right when you think it's headed down the tube something unexpected happens and it sucks you right back in. Good times.
Anyhow, before we delve into the details, I'd like to thank Sharon for implanting the worst imaginable image into my head when she uttered the phrase:
Thank you Sharon, now if you'll excuse me for a moment I'm going to go throw up for a thirty minutes. What strange pornographic universe does Sharon reside in?
In short, Sharon is miffed that the guys have decided to gang up on the girls (plus Joshuah), but little does Sharon know that penises truly do stick together in the Big Brother 9 house since Josh is secretly in cahoots with Ryan. Sneaky, sneaky. Or at least he appeared to be. More on that later.
Up in the HoH room some of the house guests were contemplating what they'd do if they won the half a million dollars. During the discussion, Mattie decided it would be a good idea if he forcefully threw a mini basketball at Nattie (granted she threw it at him first after he said something rude).
This pissed Natalie off to no end and she immediately ran down to where the Sharon and Sheila were and expressed how much she was beginning to hate Mattie. Joshuah caught wind of the one-sided "falling out" and concocted a plan to have Ryan but Mattie up on the block if the rest of the house promised Ryan immunity for the next two weeks. It was a solid play since Mattie is basically attempting to play everyone last person in the house. Will Joshua's play work? Not a chance.
You know why? Because Natalie is playing the game with love goggles on.
I'm being 100% honest when I say I knew exactly what was going to happen next. Mattie would turn on the charm and apologize. Nattie would accept and think she was going to get laid and then bam, she'd proceed to tell him all the details on the plot to get rid of him. It's exactly what happened. I'm a little embarrassed for Nat but like I said, I'm glad it happened since it stirred the pot pretty vigorously.
As planned, Joshuah approached Ryan with the plan to get rid of Matt and that's when Ryan did something a little unexpected. If it were me, I'd have probably taken Joshuah and the house up on their solicitation. Two weeks immunity in the house is huge deal in my eyes assuming you can trust the people you've made the deal with.
Instead, Ryan let Josh know he was already aware the deal was coming and let him know Natalie was the source, which pissed Joshuah off immensely. Does anyone know how to keep secrets anymore? This everything-out-in-the-open-BS is really starting to piss me off.
Before the PoV competition, (which included Chelsia, Sharon, Adam, Sheila, Joshuah, and Ryan) the house house guests who are part of the "get rid of Mattie coalition" hit Ryan up again with their offer. He wisely reconsidered and seemed set to backdoor Matt.
PoV - The Color of Veto
This PoV competition was part pool and part Dirty Santa. Each round the contestants hit an oversized billiard ball with an oversized cue stick in the hopes of getting their ball closest to or inside the veto hole in the center of the table. The person who was furthest away from the veto hold would be eliminated each round, but they'd get to pick a prize from a table--the PoV being one of the prizes.
Sheila was eliminated first and picked the Veto. It got interesting when Sharon got eliminated as she picked a brand new motorcycle off of the prize table. It's always interesting to me in this reality shows when the contestants are offered rewards that could cause them to compromise their ability to win the game. Surprisingly, Sharon gave up the motorcycle and took the Veto.
Josh was eliminated next and won a letter from home. Snore. Adam went next and won $10,000 in cold hard cash. He traded it for the motorcycle because he knew Sheila needed the money more than a motorcycle. Awww, how sweet. Chelsia won a slop pass and swapped it out for the veto.
Ryan won the competition and pulled Jen's red unitard from the prize table. Instead of nabbing the veto he appears to be sticking with the plan. In the process, he said "screw single mothers who need money," and swiped the 10K from Sheila. This will come back to haunt him later, mark my words.
Of course, this means Chelsia won the PoV.
I have to admit it, Sheila wears the unitard pretty well for a 45-year-old woman. She may not look quite as good as Jen did, but she's only 50% as annoying as Jen was so I can deal with it.
Speaking of Sheila, a feud seemed to brew between her and Chelsia when Chelsia accused Sheila of playing the "single mom card." This immediately put Sheila on the defensive and she started conspiring against Chelsia and the other members of the "get rid of Mattie coalition." Sheila also approached Ryan about not backdooring Mattie. She let him know that she thinks Matt and Ryan are the only people who truly have his back, not the clowns that are manipulating him to get rid of Matt. Interesting play unitardy, interesting play. I like it.
Power of Veto Ceremony
As expected, Chelsia pulled herself off the block. What wasn't expected was the fact that Sheila's play had an affect on Ryan and he decided to put up James instead of Matt! Spectacular!
Much respect to Ryan for showing Joshuah that he's no one's bitch and for putting James on the block. It sucks that Mattie isn't going home though. That dude gets on my nerves, but I'm sure his day will come.
