I really enjoyed the first season of Jericho. That first season allowed viewers to meet the individuals and watch them as they came to deal with a different kind of world.
The first season was riveting drama with action and always, always that question of who can you trust and what's going to happen next.
The second season was hacked to pieces I believe due to CBS trying to shove a full season of episodes into just seven or eight.
More's the pity because this show had great drama and the viewer wanting more.
I know I could hardly wait for the next week to see what was going to happen.
Someone, somewhere really blew it big time with this great show.
Time to ask yourself folks, have I had enough of reality TV and can I take even one more episode of Survivor or any of the ever increasing, mind numbing crap that passes for prime time TV?

I really like Jericho. I hope some other channel will pick it up and keep the series going. It is really close to real life series.

SAVING JERICHO: The Final Word

Here's 10 things to keep in mind for the people who will stop at absolutely nothing to save the TV show Jericho.

1- AVOID JERICHONET'S FORUM; hormonal teenagers who think they are the ruling class leading a "Revolution" aren't really people you wish to be associated with.

2- SAVE THE SHOW'S DIGNITY, BEFORE THE SHOW; Season 2 made for a different show, not the one millions of fans enjoyed to begin with. Don't make it even worse, let it die in dignity and be remembered for its initial quality.

3- IF PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO JOIN, HARRASSING THEM WON'T HELP; flooding emails and message boards with the same "orders" to write and protest makes you a troll, not a nice person.

4- BE A FAN, NOT A PAIN IN THE ASS. The latter gives the former a bad name.

5- BE PATIENT; "Forever Knight" came back as "Moonlight", "Angel" and "New Amsterdam". "Cupid" will come back as..."Cupid"! Hollywood as a limit to its creative well; wait 5 years, the show will come back, in one form or another.

6- REPEAT AFTER ME - IT.IS.JUST.A.TV.SHOW. 500 channels, millions of books in print, magazines, webcasts, radio shows, major league games, PORN for crying out loud! It's entertainement, the same as all those.

7- NETWORKS ARE NOT CHARITIES; greed aside, when a product costs more to manufacture than the profit it generates, no business in its right mind would keep making it. Jericho didn't make any money, CBS tried TWICE, now it's dead. Simple equation, really.

8- IF IT DROWNS, IT'S NOT A WITCH; people who liked season one and not season two might want to discuss the show, engage in challenging conversations. CALLING THEM TROLLS FOR THAT MAKES YOU ONE, DOUCHE!

9- IF YOU HAVE SO MUCH ENERGY, DEDICATION AND MONEY TO SPEND, SPEND IT ON CHARITY. Again, 'nuff said.

10- AVOID JERICHONET'S FORUM; it deserved repeating. They get on everyone's nerves, on any board where a Jericho discussion takes place. Here's a tip - give it up. YOU people are killing your show.

I've found some fan fiction at fanfiction.net. I've just read a couple so far. As usual, romance seems to be big. I'm hoping for more actual plot. I am still bummed at losing this show.

I also noticed the 'series finale' comment. The scenes were different, too. I hope, when it is released to DVD, that they will include both endings. I really loved this show, because I could believe it. I cared about the characters. To think that Big Brother, and the Price is Right, can make it on Prime Time is a joke. The networks just give us what is cheap and quick. We ARE dumbing down America. I suppose there is always Fan Fiction. Maybe someone will write a good Jericho story.

So last week, and all through the rest of last week's CBS programming, the "Next Tuesday..." teasers identified the ep as the "Season Finale for Jericho". Imagine my surprise (well, maybe not surprise) and extreme disappointment when during HIMYM tonight, the Jericho trailer was captioned as the "Series Finale". I was thrilled that they brought it back, dismayed when it was canceled last season, pissed off enough to join the Rangers and the nuts campaign, pleasantly shocked to actually get through to Nina Tassler's office at CBS, and thrilled when it was announced they were bringing it back. Of course I reverted to disappointment when the timeslot was announced, which brings me to a topic that has been discussed by several commenters and I'd like to echo: CBS' programming people are a bunch of asshats. That, or nobody really wanted Jericho to succeed. Season one, they tried to kill it off with the stupid "mid-season" break, and then wondered why ratings dropped off. Or did they plan it that way? Either way, I know it's a long shot at best, but I hope they shop it to another network. If not CW or MyNetwork, maybe USA or TNT. Please CBS, don't leave us hanging...

I wanted to sit down and write a long spill about how CBS truly sucks, but it looks like WHTLINE has done a good job.. I truly agree with him/her. It is really a shame that the big wigs at CBS would rather make money off of horrible examples of pieces of crap that so many families children are watching.. And we as a society wonder what is happening to our youth. Yes, with the examples of such sick shows such as Big Brother or Dexter it no surprise that you can not even walk into a mall in any town without wondering which freaked out teenager would love to attack you and cut you into multiple pieces, rather than opening a door or having a good word to say. These are the youth that are growing up infront of the demented shows that CBS wishes to promote.. I'm not blaming it all on the television industy--but there is your true conspiracy theory. Our families are being poisoned.. And even though I refuse to pay anymore for cable and we only receive local stations such as CBS and NBC and FOX --obviously our family is going to go more to watching videos... Jericho was one of the very FEW shows that was on that you never had to worry too much when your children walked into the room.. It sucks...but all I hope is that oneday when all the CBS big shots look around and actually open their eyes that they will see that all their big pay checks really weren't worth it. And hopefully they don't meet a Dexter while out in their local grocery store... ....Or worse their own child meeting him.... You all really are NUTS!!!!
