Boston Legal moving to Wednesdays

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 1st 2008 8:42AM

Boston LegalI bet you thought Women's Murder Club was gone for good (if you were even thinking about it, that is). Nope, it's coming back.

The Angie Harmon drama series about a group of women in San Francisco who solve crimes is coming back to the ABC schedule on Tuesday, April 29, at 10pm. I know, you're thinking, wait a second, that's Boston Legal's time slot! Yup, it certainly is. That show is going to move to Wednesdays at 10pm starting the next day, April 30 (the show will run in its regular time slot when it returns from the strike hiatus on April 8 and then move to Wednesdays on the 30th).

This is only a temporary change though, for three weeks, until its season ends in late May. Then, Men In Trees takes over that Wednesday time slot. And because I know you probably have a headache from reading about this particular time shuffle, I won't go into what's going to happen with the regular Friday night slot that Men In Trees usually finds itself in.

Come on now, you idiots at ABC. WTF?????? Put Boston Legal back on Tuesdays and screw the other 2 shit shows. I agree with Oreo, BL gets no promotion or advertising. ABC only promotes the shows it owns and they DON'T own David E. Kelley. Thank You G-D!!!!!!

Boston Legal gets 7.5 million viewers with no ads and will most likely get another season. It gets 10+ million when it's next to that damn dancing show.

So if anything they want the Murder show to get better ratings being next to that dancing show, and screw over Boston Legal.

And wasn't Men in Trees canceled a week or two ago?

I think ABC is trying to kill three birds with one stone with this screwy scheduling. They really don't want to give Women's Murder Club any chance to cultivate an audience, and they don't want to renew either Boston Legal or Men in Trees, which have small, loyal, but OLDER fan bases. The networks are just loony right now. They would rather order up new shows, throw them against the wall like pasta, and see if they stick than help good but struggling shows gain traction.

God damn ABC, they treat this show like dog shit on your shoes. No ads, no promotions when it wins awards, no nothing, but they will throw the show around like nothing.

Just stick the other show on on Wednesdays, is that too hard for ABC to figure out?

You would think they would just put the womens fem club on Wed. and then crap in trees when fem club is finally over and let those 2 crapfests die in peace instead of trying to take BL down with them. That is only going to screw up BL ratings. We all know how dumb those select few nielsen families are. They wont know that BL is on and will watch some repeat of some lame-ass show then BL will get cancelled because it "lost its engine," or maybe Im just getting paranoid over nothing? Who knows?
