Rumor alert: Dolly Parton Week song lists revealed?

Dolly PartonWe got a tip from TV Squad reader 'Alice' detailing what 'she' claims is the set list for this week's performance show. Now, Entertainment Weekly has their own song list for "Dolly Parton Night." And the two lists couldn't be more different. EW's list comes from a "a pretty solid source" while mine comes from an anonymous person from Singapore or Zimbabwe named 'Alice' using a fake email address. But maybe Alice is the secret name Ryan Seacrest uses when he wants to feel special and he's got the real scoop. I'll know for sure he's legit if I get an offer to make millions of dollars just by transferring funds through my bank account. Ryan wouldn't lead me astray.

The celebrity mentor and theme is Dolly Parton (so they both got that much right), though reports have it that she refused to judge the contestants because she couldn't bring herself to be mean. I guess she decided that one Paula was enough. I'm glad to hear this as 90% of the celebrity guest judges do nothing but gush over everybody's performance, and I don't think I could take Dolly telling Kristy Lee Cook how she's such an amazing performer and could win the competition.

According to 'Alice' this is not only the songs each contestant will be singing from Dolly Parton's catalog, but also the order in which they'll be performing. So now it's a competition between my "incredibly suspect" source and EW's "pretty solid" one. If mine turns out to be accurate, I may have my own 'Deep Throat' in the bowels of the Idol machine. We're gonna blow the lid off this whole Idol conspiracy! You and me 'Alice'! All the way to the end ... Now let me just get my bank account and routing numbers together here for you...

Also: Don't forget to choose your favorite Idol!

EW's List:
David Cook: "You Know I Love You"
Kristy Lee Cook: "Two Doors Down"
Michael Johns: "Islands in the Stream"
Carly Smithson: "Jolene"
David Archuleta: "Travelin Thru"
Ramiele Malubay: "9 to 5 "
Brooke White: "Coat of Many Colors"
Syesha Mercado: "Eagle When She Flies"
Jason Castro: "I Will Always Love You"

"Alice's" List:
Carly Smithson - "Jolene"
David Cook - "He's Alive"
Kristy Lee Cook - "Islands in the Stream"
David Archuleta - "9 to 5"
Syesha Mercado - "I Will Always Love You"
Michael Johns - "Crimson and Clover"
Ramiele Malubay - "Starting Over Again"
Jason Castro - "Only Dreamin'"
Brooke White - "Please Don't Stop Loving Me"

At this point they don't look any different than the hundreds of other song wish lists floating around on the Internet, do they? So innocent and sweet. Game on, EW! Game on!

UPDATE:
We were both wrong ... so I win, don't ask me how that works, it just does. But, the good folks at TMZ (who seem to have the dirt on everyone) did have the right list. Guess where I'm checking first from now on!

Omg, Dolly Parton was so wonderful! You forget how good she is until you see and then you fall in love all over again. What an amazing lady.

I know there's an American Idol tag, but shouldn't the name of the show be mentioned somewhere in the entry?

Dolly Parton night? Yikes. How is this even close in awesomeness to The Lennon/McCartney songbook? Thank God I have TiVo.

I think the EW list is an April Fools joke... come on, Ramiele singing "9 to 5" and Jason Castro singing "I Will Always Love You." I do, however, think Brooke White will be singing "Coat of Many Colors" ... and it will probably be pretty fantastic.

Alice's list sounds fishy too. I'll bet money David Cook performs "Jolene."

I would love to watch Ramiele try and sing "9 to 5". Should be high comedy.
