Britney returning to HIMYM

Britney on HIMYMYou can stop the prayer. Your wish has been granted. Britney Spears will be making a return appearance to How I Met Your Mother.

The singer/actress has recently had a high-profile appearance on the CBS comedy as a receptionist who falls for one of the show's main characters, played by Josh Radnor. The response to her appearance was generally positive.

Watching the clips on the AOL Television site, Britney does give a cute and funny performance. The character she plays is naive, sweet and tries not to offend people. She acted the role well and in the end her character gets taken advantage of by Neil Patrick Harris's character (sort of).

Britney's first appearance gave the episode phenomenal ratings. A return appearance was inevitable, particularly given Britney's real-world problems at the moment (she has a family to support and a lot of lawyer fees to pay). Some positive exposure would undoubtedly be good for the woman.

She added nothing to the show the first time other than ratings, but maybe if she comes back on the character will make more sense in the total scope of the show. It just didn't seem like her character was necessary for Ted to get in the doctor's good graces. He's never had to do that before. I do however think Bays and Thomas care about the show enough not subject to to stunt casting at the expense of the regulars. They have been getting big names since the first season and have been weaving the characters in seamlessly with the 5 main characters.

I really didn't care for her last time, but if it means Improved ratings and a 4th season I'm ok with it.

I thought she was fine, but in no way did it warrant a return performance (other than pure ratings stunt cast, obviously).

Yeah, well, apparently they can't get high enough ratings without her on it. They're probably begging her to be the mother right now.

If it means the return of Sarah Chalke, then so be it...

Actually, although i'm an atheist, my prayer was that Britney wouldn't return to HIMYM, not the other way around.

Yes! Based on her likable character in that first appearance, further screen time is justified.
Be fun to see how the writers treat her and also the dynamics with the regular cast members.
I like the show but it did need a little outside dimension. Was getting a bit to Cheers bar, and standard use of living room sit-comedy.
Decent 3 hour block for CBS. And beat me with a dummy stick but I even miss
that short-lived Welcome to the Capitan series. This block tho is tighter.
Rules appears to be branching out and mixing up the characters. Men is getting a touch more serious.
And Big Bang has Sara Gilbert back. Smart move for a smart show.
