It's finale time again! No, really.

The end is near for our favoirite showsHoly frik! We've only just started to embrace the return of our shows after a shortened strike season. Now, they are almost over. In the next few weeks all of our network favorites will say good-bye for the summer to be replaced with reality shows, reality game shows, reality soap operas, and Regis on primetime (again).

Needless to say, I'm a bit depressed. As I am sure you are as well. But, we will do our duty and press on. Thusly, we here at the sprawling lakefront offices of TV Squad (you choose the lakefront) have compiled list of when your favorite, and not so favorite, shows will be saying good-bye for their summer vacation. As usual, taking the fickleness of the networks, these times and days can change at a moment's notices. We will try to update you of those changes as quickly as our little fingers can type it out.

So, with a leaden heart, here are your season and series finales.

Monday, May 5th

Little People, Big World (TLC) -- 4th season finale

Thursday, May 8th

Scrubs (NBC) -- 7th season finale and last on NBC. Next year it moves to ABC.

30 Rock (NBC) -- 2nd season finale

Sunday, May 11th

Brothers & Sisters (ABC) -- 2nd season finale

Survivor (CBS) -- Two-hour season finale, followed by the one-hour reunion special

Monday, May 12th

Samantha Who? (ABC) -- 1st season finale

I can't believe it's time for the finales already, we just got our shows back!! :-(

But of the finales, I'm looking forward to the Supernatural one the most. I must know if Dean lives or not.

If dedicated TV viewers who read blogs about TV can't figure out just when the last episodes of "Lost" or "BSG" are on, or how long they are, or whether the first of 3 hours is a repeat of last week or not, or whether the "season" is split into two seasons 8 months apart, then

HOW THE HECK ARE AVERAGE TV VIEWERS SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHEN THEIR SHOWS ARE ON?

The networks (cable included) are killing themselves on this. They make it harder & harder for viewers to know when shows are on. Even DVRs can be fooled by these Stupid Network Programming Tricks. And they wonder why their industry is losing so many viewers.

So we are making up bullshit here? Good to know.

And yes, they had 10-13 episodes finished before the strike, and the finale episode has not been been filmed yet.

According to thefutoncritic.com, NBC said that the BSG 4.0 finale will air on June 13th, not May 30th. Also the only thing they said about 4.5 was "The 10 remaining episodes will then roll out sometime during the 2008-09 season."

Actually, they reported a few weeks ago that the finale would only be split into two parts. Part one, the first hour, will be the episode on the 22nd. Part two, hours two and three, will be from 9:00-11:00 PM on the 29th. Part one will repeat at 8:00 PM before part two for three hours total. So technically the finale, the two-hour episode, is on the 29th.

Actually, the first hour is airing on the 15th, and Grey's Anatomy is having a 2-hour finale on the 22nd (says so right in the article, it follows the Ugly Betty finale). So we have an extra week to be left hanging for the end of the season. Everything else there is right.
