Sail away with Veronica Mars fans

by Anna Johns, posted May 6th 2008 2:26PM
veronica mars castYou miss Veronica Mars. We all do. But maybe you miss it just a little more than I do. Maybe your eyes well up with tears whenever you see Jason Dohring on a promo for Moonlight because you know he's not a vampire. He's Logan Echolls, dammit!

If that is you, there are kindred spirits out there, my friend. Spirits who miss the brilliant-but-canceled series so much that they're willing to cram onto a cruise ship together and reminisce about Neptune and its inhabitants. From the people who created the Browncoat Cruise 2007, this summer's offering is Cruise to Mars 2008. Yes, it's a real thing!

The official website claims that there will be "celebrity guests from the show, Q&A panels, games, (and) a rockin' '80s Karaoke Cocktail party". The event schedule also has a Mars Bar Scavenger Hunt, viewing parties, and a tour of filming locations. The cruise sets sail from San Diego in late November. Cost is $800 a person.

Look. I loved Veronica Mars. I will forever be a fan of Kristen Bell because of that series. And whenever I see a yellow Nissan XTerra, I think, "Logan Echolls!" But I seem to have hit some sort of wall with my affection for that show, because I would not consider going on a cruise with other fans. Would you?

From a one-off comedy starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon called Cruise of the Gods, which was hilarious.

If Kristen Bell is the 'celebrity guest from the show' then I'd go.
