Oy I record everything I watch, and then view it mostly the night of, I try to time my recording so that I can skip the commericals. This means Im acutely aware of the airing times of my favorite shows.

I have a HD dual tuner PVR provided by Express Vu here in canada, I think Dishnetwork in the states offers the same thing. So I can record Two Programs at once and watch a pre-recorded Third program at the same time.

Like on thursday, If earl, thirty rock, CSI and ugly Betty are on if I give my self a 7 minute delay, enough to cover the commecials in Earl, I can watch the entire night without commercials.

Ya know Im not, because there are two shows that I wouldn't watch if I didn't record them, Numbers and Criminal minds. Although I love bones I can see how other people would record it to have it, but not really make the effort to sit down and watch it especially the night of.

This type of information to the networks would have saved Futurama, Family Guy (the first time) and Arrested Development. Better late than never, i guess.

i also this it is important that there are only 2 'reality' shows on the list and those are what many would refer to as The Cream of the Crop. Not me, though. I hate that garbage.

Bones DVR'ed at 15! Awesome!

It doesn't necessarily follow that the most watched shows are the most DVR'd shows.

It's logical that some of the most recorded shows are the #2 choice of most viewers in a given time period.

When it was on, TRU CALLING was one of the most recorded shows. Hardly a ratings powerhouse, but there was enough interest for a lot of viewers to record it while watching higher priority programming live.

I want to know where they get this information from. I know that Tivo reports your viewing/recording habits, but does comcast and the other DVR providers?

I can tell you one thing for a fact,.. There are thousands of ReplayTV owners that are not being added into this data. I know mine isn't relaying my viewing or recording habits.

Lost is my number 1 DRV'd show - way too many commercial breaks! Long live the normal DRV not the useless ABC DVR ABC wants to put out. That won't go anywhere!

DVR'd = Recorded & Watched, not just recorded.

The NYTimes article from today, and the weekly DVR data that we publish weekly all count shows that are actually watched not just recorded.

I write it DVR'd, in the great UNIX tradition of just adding a 'd to a word to refer to the act of that thing being applied (eg, I chmod'd that file, or thats a gzip'd archive)

To pronounce it, I say "divvered."

Also I make sure to divver LOST because having the video in 51 widescreen inches is way better than online streaming. Although, their "HD streaming" really is pretty impressive.

I don't really watch any shows live anymore. Everything is DVRed and watched later. Half the time I don't even know what night any of the shows I watch regularly are even on. It's nice to see someone is tracking this, now networks just need to take this into account when determining the impact of a show.
