Rumors hit the set of Battlestar Galactica about TV movie

Grace ParkFans of the almost late, definitely great Battlestar Galactica over at Sci Fi can keep their hopes alive that the series may return in the form of those oft-rumored movies. On June 27, Grace Park said that rumors of a Battlestar Galactica made-for-TV film have reached the set, where they recently had their wrap party for the four-year series. None of the actors have been contacted, and as we've been reporting all over the place here on TV Squad, the various actors and actresses are getting snatched up left and right for new shows.

Park's rumor had shooting beginning in August, which seems a tremendous stretch, as most of the new fall shows the actors are appearing in will be filming at that time. It would make more sense to try and film it during breaks. Or maybe it's going to go the route of Razor and feature mostly non-regular actors. Hell, she may have heard about the filming of prequel series Caprica.

Who knows what the hell is going on, but this is the new media. Facts be damned, I love Battlestar Galactica, and if Park had said this shortly before vomiting and passing out drunk off her ass, it'd still be worth a post. Anyone hear anything more?

Possible SPOILER Re: Fifth Cylon -

So I listened to the podcast for the final episode, and about 20 mins in to it, Ron and the writers of the episode were talking how it's sometimes so amazing how they're able to write themselves out of tough corners in the plot...and they went through a couple of examples, including one that I thought was telling about the final cylon...Basically, one writer or editor cited the whole Starbuck "Barbinger of death to her people" deal...and how it works out because her ultimately leading the colonials to destroying the Cylon Hub in affect brought the concept of "death" to the Cylon race...Then it got akwardly silent for a split second because normally Ron and the other guy would have added to that, but they seemed to leave him hangin...but all in all, I think Ron probably thought that the comment was too slight to bother to have removed, and besides it's appearently terribly difficult for Ron to put out a single podcast... So there you go, Starbuck is the final cylon despite the fact that she's in that final supper pic...tying up the harbinger of death deal, to me is probably more important than Ron's interview in some magazine...

Of course, I could be completely wrong. :)

Hi!

Actually, SyFy Portal posted a story last week about a potential movie from supervising producer David Weddle who said there definitely are talks for a movie, and they already have ideas worked out. And at least the first movie (if there are more than one) will actually be penned by Bradley Thompson and himself.

Our story is here: http://www.syfyportal.com/news425158.html
