Ask Dirty Sexy Money stars a question for Outside the Box

by Kelly Woo, posted Jul 10th 2008 4:21PM
Dirty Sexy MoneyAOL TV's new video interview series, Outside the Box, takes questions from you (the fans) and poses them to the stars of the hottest shows.

We already asked you to submit questions for the stars of Scrubs. Next up will be Peter Krause and Lucy Liu of Dirty Sexy Money.

While DSM's first season was tragically cut short by the writers' strike, the 10 episodes that did air were full of frothy fun. And that cast! Krause, Liu (who's new for the second season), Donald Sutherland, Jill Clayburgh, Billy Baldwin, Glenn Fitzgerald ... and I could go on. And if you don't quite remember where the show left off, read Erin's review of the season finale.

So, if you're wondering what's in store for Dirty Sexy Money, what Liu's character will be like and if we'll ever find out who killed Nick George's dad ... submit your questions in the comments below by Tuesday, July 15. Be sure to include your first name and your city and state. Good luck.

To Peter Krause:

First, thanks for giving us such a great show, and such interesting characters over the years.

Here are a couple of questions:

1) In its first season Dirty Sexy Money managed to give the audience flashy characters and soap opera-ish situations, while at the same time presenting some deeper themes about how money and power can impact one's life, family, perspective, etc. How does the process of balancing these elements work for you? Do you feel the show will maintain this balance during the second season, or will the focus of the show shift toward one or the other?
2) During the first season, you seemed to have a lot of scenes with Donald Sutherland, Zoe McLellan and Natalie Zea. Is there anyone in the cast you look forward to doing more scenes with this season, and why?
3) How is the show working to integrate new characters into what was already a pretty big ensemble cast?
4) Any chance of the production returning to NYC for more location work, like in the pilot?

Hi Peter!
Just wanted to thank you for giving your fans the opportunity of seeing you again. You are perhaps one of the most authentic actors out there. It truly is great to have DSM back this fall and I am looking forward to the new shows.

Hello Peter!

Let me start off by saying, I am a huge fan of yours - since Sports Night. And I absolultely LOVE DSM!

My question is - you seem to be very socially aware of the issues in today's society. Are there any themes that you'd like to see DSM explore in the future, that maybe could bring awareness to the public about certain issues? Or would you rather DSM stay out of the social commentary arena altogether?

Thank you so much for this opportunity!

From, your biggest fan in New England (at least),

A question for Peter:
On Dirty Sexy Money, there seems to be a special chemistry between Nick George and Tripp (Donald Sutherland), as we can see in your many scenes together. There has even been some speculation that Nick and Tripp might be related somehow... but you wouldn't give that up even if it were true, would you? What is your working relationship with Donald Sutherland like? Do the two of you get along as well as your characters do?

Question for Peter:

What is going to happen with your relationship between Nick and Brian?

How does Nick REALLY feel about Karen (especially when she's overtly making moves on him)? Still attracted even now? Fond of her in an "it's in the past" sort of way? Over her and just being polite due to job reasons?

Question for Peter.

Do you think Nick is vulnerable enough to abandon his plan to find out who killed his father, in case things get too threatening for his family or if the Darling's riches get in the way of his judgement?

Question for Peter... I've noticed that the character name of "Lisa" keeps coming up in each of your shows: specifically, Sports Night, Six Feet Under, and now Dirty Sexy Money. Is this purely coincidence, or, is there some meaning to the character name that you bring to each show? Thanks!
