Which network is the most engaging among 18 to 49 year-olds?

Kathy GriffinThis is a rather confusing story. Or maybe all of this heat is getting to me and there's obvious point here I'm missing.

Nielsen Media surveyed 82,000 18-49 year-olds (a rather hefty sample), and 75% of the respondents say that Bravo is the most engaging network. Yup, the network of reality shows (is there anything else on the network these days?) holds the attention of that key demographic more than any other channel, network or cable, including runner-up CBS (which got 74%), ABC (73%), The CW (71%), NBC (70%), and FOX (69%).

Of course, I'm not sure what good this does unless the numbers turn into good ratings. NBC edges out FOX in the numbers above, but you don't see many NBC shows in the top 10 (except in the summer). And a viewer that is more "engaged" in a network? Sounds like shaky numbers that could change month to month to me.

Another win for Bravo: the same demo remembered the products advertised on the channel and in product placement on the shows more than any other network.

I'm right in that demographic and I have never seen a single thing on Bravo that I'd waste my time watching.

No USA?
I think Psych, Monk and Burn Notice are my 3 favorite shows on TV right now. (and I'm very much 18-49...)

Bravo, like many other NBCU properties, is very good at touting its success in thing other than "ratings" where they don't do very well.

I use to watch Bravo all the time before we moved and lost the channel. So I had to go three years without and now I have it back. I'm towards the older end of that range but I did finally get to enjoy Top Chef and see Project Runway again this year. I think their competition reality shows are better put together because it is more about the competition itself each week. That's what I want to see... now the fighting in the house or the showmances.

They need to go HD though for me to really watch more of them or at least I need to get the HD channel added to my cable listing! Same goes for FX... I want Rescue Me in HD!
