Some more casting for The Cleveland Show

Nia LongA few more voices have been added to the cast of the Family Guy spin-off, The Cleveland Show. The voice of the main character will still be provided by Mike Henry, who also gets an executive producer credit on the show.

Kevin Richardson from The Cleaner is voicing the character of Lester, a redneck neighbor of Cleveland. Interestingly, Mike Henry is a white man voicing an African-American while Richardson is African-American voicing a white man.

Also joining the cast is Sanaa Lathan who will play Cleveland's love interest Donna and Nia Long (pictured) who will play one of Donna's children, a rebellious teen named Roberta.

I suppose the success of this show will depend on the execution of it. It has to be similar enough to Family Guy to not alienate those fans but different enough to spark an interest. Cleveland Brown never struck me as a character who could carry his own show but maybe I'll be proven wrong.

Let's pretend this were the IMDb forums.

"This show is racist, there are almost no white and asian characters"

I see potential in this spin-off. Though there's only been a teaser, I already sense that the bear character has the potential to steal this show (like the way the Stewie & Brian pair have stolen FG away from the other characters).

It's not stealing. Those secondary characters only work because their sillyness isn't prominent on those shows. They can only be that silly and in your face because they are not on screen for the most of the time. Without the main characters they wouldn't work at all.

It's hard to come up with a major character from "Family Guy" LESS able to carry his or her own show. OK, there's Meg. But otherwise, any family member and any one of Peter's other close friends would've been more interesting in a spinoff. Cleveland's always been the dullest character.
