The Middleman - Comic-Con Report

Unfortunately with this panel, I didn't get any decent pictures worth sharing. The room this panel was held in was small, though crowded, and the lighting was horrible. To make matters worse, only Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Matt Kesslar were in attendance; Natalie Morales appeared in a recorded message that she couldn't attend. So what about the other cast members?

Not a whole lot was revealed about the upcoming episodes, though we were treated to some scenes from them. We were told that the season finale is completely filled with the Middleman screaming profanity, complete with blacked-out mouths and bleeps. Aaand ... that's about it.

One attendee asked the question of why the show airs in the craptastic time slot of 10 PM, and Javier mentioned that they think it doesn't quite jive with the rest of ABC Family's programming and just seems to fit better there ... for now, at least.

Overall I was disappointed with the attention given to The Middleman at Comic-Con. This is a show that's based on a comic book and fits right in with that crowd, and we had two people come represent the show? Not to mention that I felt like Keeslar wished he was elsewhere. Of many of the shows present at the 'Con this year, I would have thought Middleman would represent a bit better.

I've heard from a friend who is a PA on this show that it's all but canceled. They're going to finish filming the 12th episode but it won't be returning, which may be why ABC Family didn't shell any money into having people out there.
