Stargate Continuum - Comic-Con Report

One of several Stargate-related panels today was that of the new direct-to-DVD movie, Stargate Contimuum (comes out next Tuesday). Apparently if I was able to keep my eyes open enough last night, the movie was shown in its entirety upon the deck of an aircraft carrier last night. Hell, if I'd realized that, I would've gone all zombie-like to the thing and said to hell with everything else today. Well, except the Joss stuff.
Here are some highlights from that panel.
Attending this panel: Brad Wright, Martin Wood, richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Ben Browder, Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge and Beau Bridges.
- First we were shown a trailer for the new movie. Nothing new, but with the impressive acoustics of the room, the symphonies from the episode were impressive.
- Amanda Tapping's hair looks a bit different, as you can see in the gallery. This is due to her role in the new Sci Fi show, Sanctuary.
- The group went right on to attendee questions. First up: What is everyone doing now? RDA was hilarious throughout the panel, and I can't touch on everything he said without making this a 5,000-word article. Seriously, the man is brilliant. Anyway, he said currently he's "unemployed."
- They are currently eight episodes of 13 into filming Sanctuary.
- Michael Shanks is going to appear in several episodes of Burn Notice, which was mentioned before elsewhere.
- Beau Bridges is playing Earl's father from My Name is Earl, of course, as well as a role in the Max Payne movie.
- chris Judge is working on a project he'll announce in the near future.
- Wright said there very well be another Stargate movie as well as a re-release of Children of the Gods. He also said it "looks good" for the Stargate Universe series.
- A very touching memorial to the deceased Don S. Davis was shown on the screens.
- The panel was asked what was the most moving episode to them, and most replied with 'Heroes' or '200'.
- Did I mention RDA was hilarious? The best part of the shoot in the Arctic, to him, was hat his poop froze in the toilets.
