How would you like a ride on the S.S. Minnow?

I'm surprised that someone hasn't thought of this before.

The owners of the Quality Foods supermarkets are now the owners of the boat used on Gilligan's Island. The company plans to send the boat on a promotional tour for Quality Foods, and might even get Dawn Wells (Mary Ann on the show) and Russell Johnson (The Professor) to take part in the event.

The boat has an interesting history. The previous owner of the boat was sailing in Vancouver waters in 1996 and noticed a boat being raised that had been underwater for three days. He bought the boat for $3500, and then decided to check the registration numbers and found out it was the boat from Gilligan's Island. He spent $150,000 to repair the boat and then sold it to Ken Schley, one of the Quality Foods owners.

If you do go on the trip, I would bring several changes of clothing so, if in the event you're trapped on an island for a few years, you won't have to wear the same thing every day.
