Damages marathon announced on FX

Glenn Close in DamagesI've been feeling pretty frustrated lately that there isn't much on TV. Burn Notice and Psych are don't-miss shows in my house, and The Middleman is watchable, but beyond that, I am not too excited about summer shows.

What gets me excited? Damages does, that's for sure. The first season of Damages was completely amazing, and I think I bemoan the fact, nearly daily, that no new episodes will air until 2009.

If you missed Damages the first time, or if you just want to relive the awesomeness that was season one, FX announced that they will be airing a Damages marathon starting Saturday, August 9 at 7:00 a.m.

Who cares that we have very few summer weekends left? Ignore that shining sun, skip the beach that day, who needs that clambake... park yourself in front of your television set and enjoy one of my all-time favorite shows.

OK, TiVo it, then, but definitely catch season one of Damages.

I loved the first season of Damages, but I don't know if a marathon is the best way to take it in. The out-of-sequence scenes and repetitive nature of the story -- not to mention the overall intensity of the show -- would make it hard to digest in 13 straight hours.

Debra: If you are looking for a great summer show -- one that is as good as, if not better than, Damages -- might I suggest Mad Men?
