The Middleman: The Ectoplasmic Panhellenic Investigation

The Middleman and Wendy(S01E08) "Guy I Don't Know is starting to look like Guy I've Known My Whole Life." - Noser

Yo, Wendy Watson. Thanks for wearing the skimpy dress in the very first scene of the show.

For the most part, scenes with two attractive young people flirting with each other while spouting flippant duologue has been done to death. For some reason that I can't quite identify, the scenes in tonight's show worked for me. Maybe it's the huge crush I have on Natalie Morales, maybe it's the fact that The Middleman is chock full of that kind of dialogue, maybe it's because I still feel bad about what happened to Brendan Hines on The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I'm going to assume that everyone who watched this show caught all the great Ghostbusters references, that way I don't need to mention them except to say that they were great...which I just did.

I really like jumping.

This episode took a little while to get started but once it did, I was loving every minute of it. The living ghost idea was pretty inspired and it's nice to have an evil genius to fight instead of the monsters and aliens we've seen in the past few weeks. More importantly, I absolutely love it when an actor gets to play another character in their body. It seemed like Matt Keeslar was channeling William Shatner from the Turnabout Intruder episode of Star Trek.

I really did like the Ghostbusters references (mainly because Bustin' makes me feel good), but my favorite reference in the episode had to be the College sweatshirt. I kept expecting a food fight to break out.

This episode was pretty boss and while I usually don't enjoy the kind of accidental romance they introduced, I'm willing to give it a chance.

So love this series for its kookie reference and there are so many you know you'll watch the series again, just to catch the ones you missed the first time. My only question is why so G rated on the romance when its so late at night. My god Kyle XY got more huff and puff they didn't even keep in the kissing this time.
Otherwise I really enjoyed all the reference and antics. My fav GB moment has to be the Egon Spangler award. What a riot! Plus did anyone catch the location bars changing slightly. They are making sure your paying attention!
Love the show, will always need more.

In addition to the fantastic Ghostbusters references, there was a great Star Wars reference, too. When Dubbie and Louis show up at the Omega Theta Nu party, Dubbie says, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy," which is what Obi-Wan Kenobi says about the Mos Eisley spaceport.

I loved last night's episode. One of my favorite scenes was when Lacey was showing Wendy the cheer or whatever that was for the sorority. And that when she said her mom's name this time, she added the greek letters on the end. Pretty funny.

At first I didn't like Lacey that much but she's definitely growing one me. Only 4 episodes left. I hope ABC Family gives it another season to see if it catches on. I think the time change hurt it some. Some weeks I wait til tuesday night to watch it because I want to go to bed early.

I wish this show was as good as that promo image leads you to believe it could be.

Hmm, not to sound like a naysayer, but, nay, I say. I loved the GB references, the College sweatshirt, and the Ray Palmer Jr. Ave, but still hate the slowly paced dialogue, carefully restrained episode and wouldn't mind more pop culture/late 60s refs. I use the initial eps as the bar against which I measure the latter ones, under which I find the later ones lacking -
